Just ask yourself why Ford built 3.2 liter engine?......because me and others love Power!

Safety? TOTL of Monty get higher ratings compare to Everest according to ANCAP Safety.
Output figures and day-to-day performance between these vehicles is not that significant. Even engine displacement is not a big factor nowadays with better turbocharging and tuning. If you really want something with more power, there are more vehicles to choose from for around the same amount of money.

It's not that they don't mind. It's more of sticking to their comfort zone. Brand reputation and reliability are big factors in making big purchases. Not only in cars but in others items as well. Personally, I had 2nd thoughts in getting the Eve because of Ford's negative reputation in quality and aftersales service. I never experienced this uncertainty in our other brands. I had to wait for 2 yrs before jumping in. So far, I'm happy with it.

    What made me decide?
    >Reading user reviews here in this forum and local FB groups.
    >Read and watched Aus, Thai and Ind user reviews (youtube and forums).
Bottomline, Pros outweigh the cons. Its worth the risk knowing that this exists in any brand that I choose.

    Hope this helps

thanks guys, all of your inputs definitely help...if I was still single I would probably jump to Montero in a heartbeat...but now that I have a growing family the safety and space that Trend model offers over the GLS variant is really a big factor. Ung premium nman ni monty di na kaya ng budget sobrang stretch na ko sa 1.5 na price tag. The factors that's still holding me back from making the final decision is un nga brand reputation, availability and cost of parts and the looks medyo malakas talaga dating sakin ni Monty sa front.

Factor why I choose the fortuner is I'm going to use it for around 10 years, so availability ng spare parts ang habol ko and also Toyota reputation for reliability, I'm not saying other brand like Ford or Mitsubishi are not reliable, but yung bang meron kang peace of mind na after 10 years ay available pa ang parts sa suking auto store mo, one more thing, yung CASA ng Toyota malapit sa bahay namin hehehe

That defect was for the previous Ranger models. It was already rectified in the current Everest/Ranger line.

Shortlist is Montero Gls and Everest Trend.
Can I ask 3.2liter Eve owner, why they choose 3.2(aside of 4x4 capability) instead of 2.2liter?

    Eve is longer of 3.78"
    wider of 1.85"
    taller of 1.22".

    Is that really matters?
