I think it has something to do with the fact that in the Philippines, especially before the age of compact SUVs, practically all cars were sedans. Exceptions to this were of course, the EG Hatch and the pathetic Pride CD-5 and Charade.

So if you're eyes get sick of seeing multitudes of sedans everyday, you'd find hatches cute. And probably because of the fact that hatches are usually softer in design because of the predominantly rounder in figure than sedans, chicks dig it more as you say.

Personally I still prefer sedans. But if I were to build an economy racer, I'd get an EG hatch for its light weight and iconic style. But SiR > EG Hatch anytime. :D

If you'll notice hatchbacks are slightly more expensive than sedans - not by much but the difference is noticeable.

By design, sedans are slightly stiffer because the base of the rear windshield acts as another fixed brace for the body/chassis. With this, they can get away with using metals that aren't so rigid.

In contrast, hatchbacks need to have stronger, more rigid rear ends vs. sedans. This is done by beefing up the metals used for the construction. The price for the versatility and the large load area is less stiffness in the design - you're basically building a car with a big open box as a body.

Actually, marami akong nakikitang picanto drivers na babae.

marami rin na CUV ang dala

Probably has something to do with drivability and cuteness.

But personally naastigan ako pag may nakikita akong babae na ang dala e pickup.

The most awesome? I listened to an interview with an actress/model before, and she said her everyday driver was a Suzuki Jimny. Why? Because it's cute, easy to drive, and because it was easy to park on the sidewalk. Epic win.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

One cute hatchback not mentioned above is Mazda 3 hatchback. Looks like a BMW 1 series. BMW 1 series, malakas din appeal sa mga chickababes.
