AVANZA ----- 1.3 J M/T (5 seater) ----- Php 593,000.00
VIOS -------- 1.3 J M/T --------------- Php 590,000.00
No particular purpose but for comparison since they are priced the same...which would you choose and why?

Vios.
It's a better car.
Although the Avanza might have the same spec (similar engine, 4 wheels, five seater), it's not the same level of handling, comfort, etc of the Vios. The Avanza is literally a small AUV.

Depende sa needs. You can place more and heavier stuff sa avanza than the vios. But you get more comfort and slightly better FC sa vios.
if you are starting a family, I would recommend the avanza. Stroller pa lang haslos puno na ang trunk. Kung single, then go for the vios.
Depende talaga sa needs. I have kids so for me the avanza is the better choice. But I also did consider the vios.

for an ordinary everyday driver a FR car would:
- provide better acceleration, since weight transfer is placed at the end of the car, improving traction;
- steering radius is bigger;
- better handling in dry conditions
- better braking
an FF car would:
- provide bigger interior space
- better FC because of fewer components, which mean lower weight
- cheaper maintenance

FWD is more sensitive to bumps and collision. Konting bangga lang on front section chances are affected na ang drivetrain. Also:
Rear wheel drive cars have their weight distributed closer to 50/50 between the front and rear wheels, which is conducive to a smoother, more stable ride. Because of the weight distribution, the rear tires and springs can take on their fair share of the work load so the car can have higher cornering limits and greater maximum stopping power. Braking is also superior on a rear wheel drive car. With front wheel drive, under heavy braking such as in a panic stop, the weight of the car shifts forward so that the front tires may do as much as 85 or 90 % of the work to stop the car. The fact that front wheel drive cars stop well despite this handicap is a testament to the engineering that goes into today's automobiles and tires.
If you need to pull a heavy trailer, you should also be aware that rear wheel drive allows for a greater towing capacity than front wheel drive.

For staright comparison without regard for needs I would say the global Vios (Belta or Yaris Sedan) over the 3rd world Avanza (Xenia)... The Avanza is pretty crude, the descendant of the crude Tamaraw FX...
