Jimny ka na lang, getz pang pa cute at city driving lang, pag yung work mo requires you to go to places, all year round, mas maganda ang jimny.
I vote for Jimny. A little foresight when buying a car goes a long way.
Ako? Sitting pretty lang, safe in the knowledge that my diesel Mitsu Adventure is more than capable of getting me home safely. My wife says that if we ever have the extra money, she wants our second car to be a Jimny. Diesel engine, ladder frame chassis, 4x4 capability, cute package. Can't beat that.
As mbt said, you may not need 4x4 capability on a daily basis, but it's still reassuring to know that it's there anytime you need it. Pareho namang maliit ang Jimny tsaka Getz, which makes them practically toys. But you might as well get the more capable toy.![]()

Suspension set-up plays a lot on the ride of your vehicle. Yung jimny po is also a short wheelbased vehicle.Originally Posted by Mojo
While I agree with you that vehicles such as Pajero would last longer sa mga pot riddled roads natin, pag nasira naman e mas mahal. Cars such as getz have a simpler suspension set-up. Let's assume na mas madaling masira yung suspension nung Getz, yung cost naman to replace it would be cheaper than a pajero.
pero chances are, the jimny will be a rougher ride than the getz. hehe. so it really boils down to comfort vs. capability
Yun gets purely on road use yung jimny on/off road. cguro depende yan sa lifestyle mo at kung san mo gagamitin sasakyan.
Pero I vote for Jimny.kahit medyo mahal.

Masisira rin ang suspension ng Jimny, but the thing is, it would take a lot to break it.
Mura nga yung suspension ng Getz by comparison, but if it breaks down frequently, wala ka ring natipid. Hassle pa, since you'll be making more frequent trips to the casa/repair shop.
You get what you pay for, is all.

Mojo,
Sorry if I got your previous messages wrong. Kasi your statement implies a different meaning. I also want to stress that not all vehicles now uses leaf spring front and back. Most of the vehicles uses a combination of coil at the front and leaf at the rears. I agree with you na pag leaf spring ang pinag-uusapan matibay talaga pero pag nasira yung front e ang mahal. I have a F150 and I use to shrugg off the potholes sa EDSA. The problem is nasira yung upper ball joints ko that set me back 15k for both sides!
I also have this misconception na small cars are for city driving only. I've used my Getz two weeks ago papuntang San Pablo and it changed my view about small cars. Going to south kasi is pretty slow and so you can't use all the power of a big car.

i thought IFS Ang F150?
Bro, is this your first Small, shortwheelbased, small rimmed car? if so, maybe so far you have good impression of it.
Pero try to imagine it after two years, when the suspension begins to break, SWB vehicles are extra annoying when it comes to suspension problems

Yes IFS ang F150. If I can remember it correctly, I think it has a double A arm suspension with coilover springs and anti roll bar. The rear naman is a solid rear axle.Originally Posted by Mojo
I don't blame for your biases against SWB cars maybe you had a bad experience on these type of cars in the past but I guess its just a matter of time to judge whether I made a wrong decision getting one.![]()
