i've owned an ESI. althought 94 model sya. Its a great car, powerful engine, porma, dependable. As the poster above mentioned, do check the papers, engine, etc.
One thing to also check in civic is the roof....most roof of civic have rust.

you already can buy a new EK Civic LXi for your budget. If im buying a car and eyeing an EG Civic ESi, i wouldnt shell out more than 160k.

+1 on the roof. Check diligently for rust or corrosion damage.
HCP has a thread on a not-too-pricey fix for EG Civic roofs that have been eaten away by corrosion. Basically a metal shop can fabricate a new roof panel for you using the original roof bracing and supports. PhP8k thereabouts.
A lot of Honda Club EG Civic owners have had this done and they're all happy with it.

i think the 95 ESi is identical to the 96 LXi in engine and transmissions.
kahit natutuklap na yung paint, basta solid yung mga mechanicals at engine components (i.e., never overheated, no leaks, etc), hindi ka tirik jan. kung maarte sa kotse tulad ko do try to set aside some money to have things repaired tulad ng kalampag, or drive belts, aircon...
tawaran mo pa yung 180T na yan. if i were buying, 150-160 would be a good price na hindi naman nakaka-insulto pag sinabi mo sa seller. unless talagang fresh at amoy brand new pa yan at sing-higpit ng sipit ng talangka yung mga underchassis..

180k is too much for this lousy Civic ESI. If you really like that car, dont go beyond 150k.
With 180k budget, go for 1997 Accord na lang.

Mas malakas sa gas ang accord kesa sa 1.6 EFiMaybe 97 civic vti would be more suitable option.
that may be, but we all got plastic, young and old. we asked the lto guy, "papel ba po, o...
