Lynx m/t nasa 8-9km/l normal city driving, hiway nasa 11-12. Matipid naman lynx but Civic VTi is even more economical.

Among the choices, I'd narrow down to two - Lynx and the Civic (basta pareho m/t). More to the Lynx as it has more luxury and safety features than the civic. The civic is IMO over priced kasi this is one of the favorite cars na pormahan and i-mod nowadays. Performance wise, lynx pa rin, civic has no guts in the low range, because that's where you get the exceptional economy of this car. Safety, hands down LYNX, Civic has seatbelt tho hehe. Comfort, Lynx pa rin talaga, power everything, 8-way seat adjustment, steering feel, except for the more bumpy ride. Civic has a very soft and comfortable suspension, and the clutch is sooo smooth.

Had both cars, my clear choice is the Lynx, but i regret to have parted with the Civic. hehe

I agree with most, overpriced ang Honda but kung mahilig kang mangporma sa girls, okay lang. Kung rides lang sa province go for Nissan or Toyota.

mas Ok ang newest Lynx Ghia you can get for 300K

but i bet papasok na sa budget ang high feature content 02 model onwards.

overpriced mashado ang 2nd hand na Toyota or Honda. ok din ang Nissan pero mas fun to drive ang Lynx.

wow! nice thread just what i needed to see. Im looking for a car at around 300K din kasi.

    Nways nice insights.

    Just have a few questions:

    2. Would you go for a 2nd hand Honda City 2000 or 2001 model or a Honda Lxi/Vti 1997 or 1998 Model if they were all priced the same?

    2. Would you go for a 2nd hand Honda City 2000 or 2001 model or a Honda Lxi/Vti 1997 or 1998 Model if they were all priced the same?

All other factors being equal, I'd go for a 2nd hand Honda City 2000 or 2001 model.

    ah ok thnx!

So whats the reasoning behind this? I mean with all factors being equal. Why would you go for a 2nd Hand 2000/2001 City instead of a 97/98 Civic Lxi/Vti?
Im guessing because its newer? any more reasons?

As for Lynx prices, they carry the onus of being successors to the Mazda 323. The relative lack of casa support and subsequent collapse of Mazda in the late 90's sent 323 prices on a downward spiral that continued with the Lynx.
Despite this, while a Lynx is not Honda dependable, it's just as good as Sentras and Lancers mechanically, and parts aren't that expensive at Banaue.

The first gen City is good, mechanically, but has very little in the way of amenities for the money. If you can afford a secondhand NEW city, that's a GREAT car.

you think lynx is the best choice considering my preferences..?
    1. durable - would last for the next 5 years, would not have a
    hard time looking for parts
    2. comfortable - i'm not so much in the "porma" for the car
    3. economical - need i say more
if ever i buy a lynx, what model can I get for 250-300K?

The 97-98 VTI M/T is I think the sound choice, just be on the look out for possible worn out parts that were not yet replaced by the owner like brake pads/shoes and hoses in the cooling system..seven or eight year old jap cars will usually have parts replaced during this period. Also check the aircon system because evaporators usually fail during this period. But mechanically sound as it is, VTI M/T is the most reliable among the three.

Ayaw mo ng Corolla 1.3 2000 to 2001? pasok na sa budget yun, fuel economy, walang problem sa service at parts..

    Or lancer 2001...

links 2001 to 02 makakakuha ka 280K sa Ford mismo syempre 2nd hand yun.

If your studying sa Manila syempre nag babaha yung ibang area dun, you could try looking for Jimny 2000 - 01... kaso sa edsa lang yata may service center sa PhilHino.

or any Mini SUV na mura.
