If you do buy a 2nd hand Civic check mo yung records nito sa casa. Maintenance, etc. Since 2007 lang yan meron dapat. Makikita mo rin problems niyan.
Cars usually have a 3 to 5 year waranty and maintenance. Ever wonder why someone would sell a 2 to 3 year old car? Doubt the reason. Para na rin sa iyo yun.

I'll go for the brandnew City or if I want the Civic, save my money until such time I can afford it.

I'm surprised a lot of posters here are really apprehensive of getting a "pre-owned" vehicle. Is this apprehension based on first hand experiences or heard from others with bad experience?

go for the new 09 City. nothing beats a brand new car. in 6mos time, the FD is 3 three years old already. kahit maingat ka sa gamit, there will be some parts that may need to be replaced here and there. kung nde pa naka extended warranty, wala ng CASA support.
while the City is a brand new model, everything's in tip-top shape, and you have 3 yrs of (possible)headache free ownership. plus, nothing beats the feeling of a brand new car..
go for the City. can't go wrong there.

^^Lalo na Civic for me in your scenario. Since 1 year old lang, tapos mas mura pa. Buying 1 or 2 year old cars are great bargains because huge depreciation is accounted for in the first 3 years.

where you buying from? dealer? if dealer, have the dealer guy make lakad everything na lang for you. pagdating sa iyo ng papers nakapangalan na sayo, plus the orig tmg police certificate (at the very least, tignan mo kung meron nito).
if private seller, well, medyo mahirap, because you'hh have to do the whole process yourself. AT THE VERY LEAST, ask for a copy of the tmg police certificate. verify (go to TMG). then verify the cert of registration (yellow certificate) via LTO text. if both check out, it's kosher, go for it.
Has anyone of you tried buying or installing front bumper that's made in taiwan (yung...
