Dunno, didn't take a look at it na kasi mag-tulo laway lang me. They also have a siopao-type M5. I think they just sold the brand new M5 kasi wala na sa ad nila.

Yup got the Bandit, kaya wala na pang-M5.

the recent models, i feel bmws are more reliable than mbs. sobra daming gadgets na ang linalagay sa mga new models ng mb na nakakatakot na sobra. sirain dito sa philippine environment.

hmm it seems that audis are really difficult to maintain. well that's what i've heard. do you still think 2nd hand european cars are better than buying a brand new japanese car? siymepre iniisip ko din yung "image" di ba. but sometimes i'm thinking...screw the image! what do you guys think?

Weelll I wouldn't forget the Audi just yet cuz it's so cheap 2nd hand. FYI, lionell just bought one, maybe you can ask his impression.... It's not only image that's diff with Jap cars, most important diff (for me) is the ride, truly diff from Jap cars (except Lexus).

If image lang habol mo get a W140 MB. Walang tatalo dun, kahit W220 namin di pinapansin ng mga sikyu pag kasama yung W140 hehe. Yun lang parang unti-unting nagse-self-destruct yon.

Probably I would go for MB's despite all the criticisms. The seem to look nicer compared to old BMW's and especially old Audis.

Mas ok syempre yun bago but that is if you have the money for it. Kasi bili ka ng bago mazda3 for 735k, babayad ka pa every month amortization. Second hand 95 BMW e36 mga 400k, then use 100k to replace everything that needs to be replaced. Tipid ka pa din, BMW pa. Wala pa prob with monthly payments. But that's just me. =)

Are you talking about prices of parts at dealer's? If you talk to Benz owners, they'll also say that maintaining a Benz is cheaper than BMW if you know where to buy the parts. So, which is which? Paging BMW and Benz owners.

Got both... well you know what I said in page one.

Btw, after a couple of times (yung try lang), I never go to the dealers, double (or more) the price, mechanics don't really know much.

What do you think of an E39? Is it as reliable as an E34?

Test drove a '97 540i last year (before I got the Trans Am)... I was pretty shocked that at 52000km walang kalampag, only problem was a little leak at some coolant hose (very easy to replace). It was like driving a new car without the new car smell, so yeah I guess it is. Even if mukhang siopao, haay, didn't have the money kasi e.... But then again, masaya me with the Bandit.

My cousin has a Bimmer, I have a Benzo. Apples to oranges nga lang since he has a '97 E36 while I have a '77 W123. At the end of the day, I still spend less on maintenance and parts.

one last question: di ba difficult ang service ng mga european cars? i mean aside from the usual casa servicing. are there enough non-casa shops that cater to bmws, benzes and audis? and would it be more practical to have them serviced there? thanks for all the help guys.

Marami talagang third-party specialists for European cars. Mas madami pa kaysa Japanese vehicle specialists. Usually kasi non-Euro vehicles are just repaired at jack-of-all-trades shops. Ang Euro cars may sarili silang specialists. Meron bang third-party Nissan only/Mitsubishi only/Toyota only na shop? MB only/ BM only madami lalo na sa Metro Manila.

Don't ever go to a casa. Useless mga yon, they also might end up wrecking your car (esp BMW casas). Basic/Delodur in Libis does very good work for me. There's another thread here about a 700k used car where several shops were mentioned.
