Which of the two would you choose?

    With a budget of around P400k, I've seen '04 1.3 CVT City's but also '04, even '05 1.5G Vios's (M/T).

This would be my family's (me, my wife & our 4-month old baby) primary vehicle.

Which would be more comfortable for them?

ive tried the vios pero 1.3e version lang and we have the city 08. the comparison of riding comfort is about the same but more comfortable seats ng vios.

for the FC, nothing beats the city idsi... sooobrang tipid sa gas. mas roomy yung city IMO. draw back lang yung exterior ng city. mas maganda porma ng vios.

    my 2 cents

Baka mainis ka sa mahal ng maintenance ng CVT considering second hand unit.

    Manual Vios ang recommend ko

I have a honda city 1.3 CVT, only maintenance on the CVT is change CVTF (ATF kung sa ibang AT) evry 20,000 km...sa casa is P2,250 lang pa change nito..on the average, it will take 2 years bago ka maka 20,000 km...so mahal ba ang P2,250 for 2 years? Kaya i dis-agree na mahal ang maintenance ng CVT...Sulit na sulit ang CVT - it is very smooth kahit i research nyo pa over the net...CVT has a lot of good reviews...

Basta huwag CVT. Kasi mahal pag pinagawa yan pag nagkaron ng topak. If it's conventional A/T or any non-CVT's, pwede na yan.

Medyo natrauma kasi ako sa kwento dito about sa City's na may problema regarding their CVT's eh.

Nanhukay kayo ng 2008 na thread. But as for me, Vios nalang. Can't risk it with a problematic CVT and the 1.3IDSI really is quite short on power even if it is fuel efficient.

I had city idsi cvt 7 speed before, after 40k kms nagka topak na yung CVT tranny may garalgal sya when accelerating from 5 to 20kph the harder you accelerate the more the garalgal parang yung belt, problema pag uphill lalo na sa matarik na carpark lakas ng vibration parang bibigay. Palit ako ng ATF (CVTF) nawala pero after less than 10k kms bumalik na naman, yun binenta ko. Then 8 spark plugs yan so mataas maintenance nyan compared to vios. Pero smooth talaga and zero shift shock.

Take note yung bago city balik sa conventional a/t tranny di na cvt...so why they discontinued cvt?

Based on my personal experience only i dont know with other cvt

Baka hindi pa nila perfected. I believe Nissan Xtrail may CVT and they even use it as one of their main selling points. Baka sa kanila ok na reliability/durability nung design nila.
