Been contemplating about this 2. Based on my comparison, below are the pros and cons.

    Subaru XV

    Pros vs HRV:

    1. Symmetrical AWD
    2. Newer model since HRV is just facelifted
    3. Better interior materials
    4. Better engine?
    5. Front, Side, Knee and Curtain Airbags

    Cons vs HRV:

    1. No Backup Camera
    2. Halogen headlamp
    3. Cannot install leather seatcover because of side airbags
    4. Higher maintenance cost?

    Honda HRV

    Pros vs XV
    1. Backup Camera
    2. Better Fuel Consumption since FWD only?
    3. Automatic LED Headlamp
    4. Bigger boot space
    5. Magic ULT seats

    Cons vs XV
    1. FWD
    2. No cupholder on the center arm rest of the rear seats.
    3. Limited rear visibility

Actually, I am leaning towards XV but still considering HRV.

    Your thoughts?

    Subaru XV’s advantage:
    AWD, better off road performance
    Higher ground clearance

    Cons:
Kind of slow. Slower than the HRV
Most probably have less reliable CVT than Honda
Direct injected, meaning eventual carbon build up on intake valves

    HRV’s advantage:
    More versatile interior
Most likely easier to source parts

    Cons:
    Lower ground clearance
Less capable on off road conditions

I’d get the HRV if its not going to be used off road.

    Thanks for your comments..

Test driven both and drive is similar though XV has more airy feeling due to big glasses comparing to HRV...

Will decide by End of the Month

So far after discounts, below are their net prices:

    HRV E price is 1.285M
    XV Base price i s 1.338M

Common problems are leaking evaporator, water in the brake light housing, and pads eating the rotors.

Personally, as long as the engine is solid, I'm fine with these niggles.

Curious, hows your Subaru now? Is there a big difference between the base variant as to the more expensive one? In the market to get a new ride

Check the Motor Image site and compare the features. I think the base version does not come with Eyesight system.
