November 30th, 2017 06:45 PM #3I also looked at these two same models a month ago as we were looking for a vehicle upgrade.Between the two,mas gusto ko yung montero gls for the ff. reasons:
1. Ride Comfort
2. Better interior (aesthetics)
3. Safety features,specifically airbags
In terms of maintenance, engine performance, looks, resale value almost similar lang sila.
I opted though for the blue power na mu x...personal choice lang.
But any of the three (fort, monty and mu x) ok naman, nasa preference nalang yun.
Good luck on your purchase and happy and safe driving.

December 1st, 2017 02:20 AM #7There's not much that puts one different from the other and most of your criteria can fall into personal preference, especially the ride comfort, interior and looks.

- Engine Performance -- I would give the edge to the Montero
- Interior -- Montero, the price savings can also be used to upgrade the HU and speakers
- Exterior -- I prefer the looks of the Fort, particularly the back
- Maintenance -- Toyota gets the edge here
- Resale Value after 10 yrs -- Toyota, definitely
- Do note that the Montero is a more comfy ride and a better tranny
It's pretty close but I would get the Montero Sport because of the discount and the better engine+ride.
