Okay rin itong Mitsu,- dahil a few months ago,- itong isang kakilala ko, P200K ang discount na nakuha niya sa premium.....

Wala kang "protection" sa pricing scheme nila at any time talaga.....

I brought my sibling with to provide a different perspective looking at the exterior, interior and feeling the space for the front, 2nd row and 3rd row seats, and also how easy to get in and out of the vehicle.

I had high hopes for the CRV reading a lot of positive reviews on how roomy it is but I'm honestly not impressed in this area. Yes, it felt wider with lots of pockets and holders but the roominess seems to be not that significant for me, I even felt the legroom in the Monty is nicer that the CRV. Seating at the 3rd row, my sibling felt much comfortable in the Monty than the CRV.

In terms of getting in and out of the vehicle, one would exert more effort with the Montero basically using the stepboard, a clear trade-off for the high ground clearance. While for the CRV, I really cannot comment, I had difficulty entering it since the display unit was elevated from the ground using some 4-5" thick square pedestal under the wheels. Im not sure why the dealerships do this, it will defeat the purpose of someone trying to feel the comfortability of entering and exiting the car.

Interior of the CRV feels more premium.

Exterior of the Monty has more presence.

Ride quality TBD after test drive.

I had to admit, while seating at the driver seat for several minutes tinkering and simulating driving both cars, I sensed confidence with the Monty than the CRV.

Great choice and I think you will be happy with either way you go. Personally I would choose the CRV, more comfortable monocoque body and the lack of headroom on the new Montero makes me feel claustrophobic.

Enjoy your ownership which ever way you go!

From the threadstarter's comments, it seems that the Montero Sport has his "kiliti".

If you do live outside Metro Manila and occasionally get to drive near trucks, or drive on the same roads as trucks, then you will definitely feel more confident in the Montero.

OTOH, Outside of the more premium feel and the comfy drive, the other reason why I prefer the CR-V is because of safety. Both of the road-safety kind and the more-safe-from-carjackers kind. I had a couple of friends held at gunpoint because of their Montero Sport.

Mine was 2017 gls. Wala ako pinagsisihan. Make a quick test 170kph in tplex for a minute to test kung may vibration. No vibration indeed and no veering on the right.

Yes they can. The PPV vs CUV comparisons have been going on for so long and the addition of a diesel 7-seater CRV makes it even more interesting.

Both have diesel engines. Both have 7 seats. Both have raised ride heights.

Where do they differ? PPVs have more rugged chassis more suitable for unpaved roads, CUVs have car-based chassis that are more comfortable. While PPVs are bigger in terms of exterior dimensions, when you compare a CRV and Montero specifically, the CRV comes out more spacious actually.

The choice is really up to the buyer if they want a rugged, more durable PPV or a softer, more comfortable CUV. The market seems to prefer ther former.

i both own both 7 seater diesel crossover and diesel PPV, di ko na din makita talaga difference. siguro mas mataas lang, in terms of ruggedness, hindi na din ma-feel at times. so for me, it's not that big to differetiate the two classes na talaga.

between the two, Montero why? matagal na expertise ng Mitsu ang diesel dito sa tin. Honda, mangangapa pa yan yan technical team, though they'll get there, since it's also a Jap company. kayo kung gusto nyo maging part ng first batch ng experiment ng Honda dito sa Pnas at oks lang, eh di by all means
