Honestly, the CX9 will look more upscale and elegant than the Trailblazer at any given time. Say you went for the TB, you might regret it once you see a CX9 roving around you but it will be hardly the same when youre driving the cx9 then you get the TB.

It's been a while since the 9 came out but the design is just timeless.

Good point! Other than being a drinker, CX9 is better in most aspects than TBZ.

Agree. Especially the AWD CX9. different league talaga. Too bad I sold mine. But to each his own. At least I can say I got to enjoy it for a few years. It was becoming a wall flower in my garage cause i rarely used it. The TBZ will be run to the ground when i get it hehehe.

Regarding the timeless design: yeah its timeless. Looks better than a Cayenne if you ask me.

Ano727 --- if you can, add the fog lamps and 20" mags (im sure there are many of those being sold 2nd hand). Roof Rail too !!!!!! No one will be able to tell the difference between yours and an AWD if you do.

*EQAddict - I like your suggestion. Would you know where I can get the foglamps for 2013 CX9? No stock sa casa and it's expensive pa. Mags, later pa siguro. Roof rail baka di na kailangan. Ok na sya without one.

sadly i wouldnt know where to get those foglamps from another 3rd party seller.

By the way, just to share, am getting better than 5km per liter with my CX9 at an average speed of 13kph, dahil medyo traffic sa mga dinaanan ko especially along Shaw and Ramon Magsaysay as well as around Ortigas CBD. On board computer shows 19.2 liters per 100km (~5.2 km per liter). Not bad!

This means I can still get to 6km per liter pag walang traffic within the city. This is encouraging result so far! Test ko later sa highway.

Chief Ano727, we all feel the same most of the time in choosing between options, and take it that that's the beauty of having choices/ options/ alternatives from among available rivaling car brands in Philippines. It's better to have that choice in time you need it than not having at all when you need it.

Nonetheless, if PRACTICALITY still weighs more than GOOD LOOKS, the Chevy Trailblazer is still the best among the relatively cheap SUV segment. This is what i posted (an excerpt only) at TopGear Philippines in relation to testimonies from two Trailblazer owners thereat (one of them is even a BMW owner who now raves about his TB) and a Monterosport owner here at tsikot as regards to land speed versus the engine-rpm they're at when driving their respective SUVs. Take note that the land speed were calculated based on tyre specs and gearing specs, and rpm they mentioned during series of discussions.

Chief, i finally got hold of the gearing spec of the Trailblazer 2.8, just private message me if you don’t have a copy. Tama ka sa claim mo re 130 kph at 2100 rpm with the 265/60/R18 tyres.... With the 245/70/R16, on the other hand, it is speeding at 129 kph.... Ganda talaga ng Trailblazer WOW lalong matutuwa yung kaibigan ko nito na pa-order ng 2.8 this December 2012 hehe! Same thing goes for the Trailblazer 2.5, according to Mindkinetic, he's running about 127 kph at 2100 rpm.... SULIT-na-SULIT talaga ang pinaghirapang PhP1.3 M to PhP1.7 M hehe, hindi gaya nung isa haha!!!!

Obviously, the Fortuner, Santa Fe, Tucson, and Trailblazer 2.5 and 2.8 achieve better cruising speed at any one-point along the rev-range than the Monterosport.

Practicality-wise, the lesser engine-rev you make, the lesser sequential pressure combustion there is in a 4-stroke or 2-stroke cycle engine. In this case, we're talking of 4-stroke diesel engines.

Cumulative from the time I bought to present day - computer shows around 5.5km/liter. This is 95% city and 5% highway (very seldom I get to run hiways). Home and work is from one CBD to another, so everyday bumper to bumper stop-and-go traffic. The figure is about the same as my manual calculation.

Also note that I drive spiritedly, I like the sound of CX9 revving high, which means I'm stepping too much on the gas. A lighter foot would easily give 6 or better. If you live outside CBD, even better FC efficiency figures.
