It really depends on your needs sir. I suggest you can start off with the comparison of the 2 cars: pros and cons. Examples are sedan vs. hatch, A/T vs M/T, 1.3 vs 1.5.

Hintay tayo ng comments from tsikoters that could give their inputs on the performance of both cars para may idea ka on what to consider.

The practical choice is the 07 Honda City.

    -bigger interior cabin for passengers
    -bigger space in the trunk
-gets better fuel mileage (than the Swift)
    -better aftermarket support (if needed)
    -better casa service
-easier to find spare parts in the future (when these cars get much older)

Honestly, the only thing going for the Swift is the Mini-Cooper look which is just a fad. The interior seating is cramp, especially for the rear. The cargo area is very small, barely enough for a week's worth of groceries for a single person. Fuel economy is average.

And Suzuki casa is not that high on the customer satisfaction list, in fact it is ranked very low. And parts (outside the casa) for the Swift is a big question mark. That is important if you plan to keep this car for more than just a couple of years.

Personally I'd pick the Swift. I could live with the utterly space-less car because I'm single and I don't have kids nor much cargo to lug around. Of course, during times that I need to bring friends and cargo, the car is useless. But for the most part, I think the Swift is ok. A little bigger than an i10, but none of the awkward proportions. Nowhere near the Jazz in terms of space, not even the Yaris/Mz2.

But the engine of the Swift is really, really preppy. And it's chassis is good.

But all this is moot if you need a car with even a bit of practicality. The Swift just has none. And as GH said, Suzuki isn't renowned for after-sales support.

Weigh your priorities, it's the best way to decide.

Hmmm, I like how the Swift looks vs. the City... so Swift ako!

Sa parts availability, I think it shares some parts with the vios... Just check out the engine spec of the two... err maybe i'm wrong?

City. You are buying a used car so automatically I can sense you value practicality... Cause if you don't you would have gone new...

    Suzuki Swift.

why? first of all, bakit mo kailangan patusin ang high resale value ng Honda. palaging tandaan na sa pagtingin ng 2nd hand na sasakyan, better go with a low resale value brand, you can use their price difference for your maintenance. and regarding parts, andyan ang Team Swift or ako mismo I can give you recommendable shops for Zukis. tulad ng Honda, madali rin humanap ng parts ng Suzuki Swift, trust me, kilala ko personally mismo yung isang Suzuki Authorized parts dealer dito sa atin. parts are cheaper than Honda City.

isa pa, city driving ka so you will need a Matic, plus pa yung Japan CBU ang Swift.

reliability, may narinig ka na bang horror stories ng Swift or particularly Suzukis? masyadong underrated ang Suzuki like Nissan but we all know they are both good brands.

isa pa, yung looks palang taob na ang City hehe.

The City is much more practical. 1.3 MT, should get extremely good economy compared to the Suzuki.

The Suzuki is more fun to drive, with better steering and better handling, but that's it. The plastics are not as good as the Honda, the back seat's cramped and there's no cargo space. If you're driving alone, it's okay... but it still isn't as practical as the City in terms of fuel economy or daily use.

They're completely different engines. Different bore and stroke, too, so there's nothing in the specs that suggest they're even remotely related.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    I tallied the result:

    Swift: 4
    City: 5

For the look's SWIFT,actually im leaning toward swift because its A/T But i am tempted to get the CITY as i read your input guy's.

You're right, the Swift looks much better than the City. You sometimes can't recognize the front with the rear of the City, they are almost the same. Besides, the City is very much common on the road. The Swift has a much more powerful engine (1.5L DOHC 16V vs. 1.3L SOHC 8V). Pasensiya na mga Honda fanatics, I drive a Suzuki Vitara JLX 4x4 A/T which I find more tougher than the 1st generation CRV.

    Suzuki Swift hands down.

    so that counts to

    Swift - 6
    City - 5

sir may Vitara pala kayo so Shops with Zuki parts alam niyo na like Olympia. parts for Suzuki's are not hard to find. If you don't own one, then you won't even know it for real hehe.
