If you go for Honda, around 96 model below. Toyota siguro 98 model meron na. I saw in the ads before a 2000 model Ford Lynx for 250K. Dagdag ka nga lang 50K pero at least mas bago. At the same price, you can find better deals for brands other than Honda and Toyota AFAIK.

Corolla GLi 92 to 93 model, and spend the change for repairs and some customization.

I'd say for P200k you should look for Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic or even an Accord.

for a 200k budget, ang pwede mo mabili

a very good conditioned stock AE101 corolla (GLi) from 95-97
minsan makakatsamba ka ng 98 XL, EE110, yung body bago yung lumabas yung altis.

    1995 ESi na good condition.
civic hatchback na modded (minsan dag dag ka pa onti cash).

sa lancer, pagkakaalam ko pizza na GLXi ata or dagdag pa onti.

Accord's downside is fuel economy while Civic ESi rust. Pick the one that won't cause you too much problems.

yung 98 GLi kasi bentahan nasa 250K to 280K e. mas mababa ang XE at mas mababa pa yung XL. meron ako nakita dati in good condition na 98 XL selling for 210K negotiable.

Depneds on whats you look for in a car.
if fuel economy then the civic or corolla might fit the bill
if space and comfort ride then an older accord or corona might be more suited.
kung space and utility baka naman pick-up or AUV ang pwede sa iyo.

    Lynx:

    Pros:
-great handling, even compared to the Civic
-usually good amount of amenities for your money
    -comfortable interior, Japanese quality plastic
    -fun to drive
-parts not that hard to find anymore, many bigger stores (Rapide, Servitek, Minerva, etcetera) carry parts, and there's good availability in Banaue. And, no, they're not expensive.

    Cons:
-medyo matigas ang suspension. It's not as bad as a Jeepney or AUV, though, and it's comparable to the new Altis (medyo matigas din kahit di siya ganung ka-sporty). That's the price you pay for good handling.
-poor fuel economy with an automatic transmission. better to get the manual.
-sensor niggles - MAF might need cleaning - cheap do-it-yourself fix, Cam Position Sensor on 2000-2001 models tends to conk out. Costs less than 5k to fix. If the owner has replaced it recently, ok na yun. The new sensor (03 up) doesn't burn out easily.

Truthfuly, you won't know it until the car stops. The old Cam Position Sensor was sensitive to heat, and it would short out in hot traffic, causing the car to stall. After five minutes or so, it would be okay again.

This sensor exhibits problems around 40,000 kms, but once replaced, the new one should last a very long time (iba yung design). So if the previous owner has replaced it, okay na yun. I'm sorry, I don't know how to tell the new one from the old one. Remember, this only affected early 00-01 models.
