I currently have a 2006 Toyota Fortuner VVTi and have a chance to get a 2008 Toyota Rav4.

Question: What advantages & disadvantages would I have giving up my Fortuner for the Rav4?

Rav4 is a smaller and lower? suv.
I would think Rav 4 would be more fuel efficient, but not by much.
If I were you, I won't give up the Fortuner for a Rav4, since its just 2 years younger than your current car.
    But, its your call.

If you space (cargo + passenger) then I'll stick with Fortuner. If not then I'll go with Rav4.

Between the two, I'd get the Rav4 if you don't need the 3rd row and flood fording and bad roads is not an issue.

The Rav would be a little more fuel efficient and faster, has better comfort and i'd assume, a better crash rating.

Advantage: Newer car, easier to park, Mas matipd ng onti, Mas comfortable (i guess)
Disadvantage: Lost of additional seating/luggage space, lesser ground clearance (for Flood and Off-Road Duties)

Would spare parts for the fortuner be Cheaper since its an asian model only and the rav4 is a global model?

I was maintaining my sister's 2006 Rav4 before (which she replaced with a D4d Fortuner recently) and it was just like maintaining a Camry (well... they have the same engines); I'd expect the body and suspension parts of the Fortuner to be cheaper.

I get around 5.5-6km/l in heavy traffic, 7-8km/l in light traffic and 10-12km/l in highway driving (depending on how fast I drive).

Don't expect a 2.4 RAV4 to get much more than 6 km/l in heavy traffic. It's not going to be an upgrade in that regard.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
