for me it still depends sa price ng two, medyo hindi "click" ang focus ngayon sa atin because of high entry price (900k+php) which is comparable na sa high-end na mazda3(2.0) and civic(i-vtec lineup). siyempre, di rin natin alam pa ang entry level price ng dadating na 2006 civic. pero kung papalo din ng 750k+php just like the current civic ang entry price then many people would prefer the civic over the focus! price mostly ang nagdi-dictate ng market! insights ko lang po.

the new civic will probably have lowest price of 800k+, the city and jazz will probably replace the low end 700k+ civics before.

Porma-wise, I like the focus better..the new civic ass looks dumb..performance wise, you'll never really know till you feel those babies.

performance of course hard to say but have test driven the focus and i still choose my 2R but close lang sila probably because of same platform, i choose the 3 more on hte interior looks and the gear display

advice dont get in line without the release of hte unit, wait for reviews from owners muna unless die hard honda fan ka hehe

actually yung review ni clarkson sa focus hatch (not the sport version) nung jan '05 in his newspaper column titled "nanny car for a nanny state" said the focus is boring and unimpressive- if you compare it with the earlier focus.

but bollocks to him! i still say focus hatch is the best in its class in the country right now.

iv test driven the focus 2L but feels like my 3 has faster acceleration eh

the test unit has squeeks and rattles na probably because being a test unit

but overall it would still be my second choice, close to 3 2R

despite the rattles and and unknown sounds, the 'amoy pawis' aircon, the hole in the fender, the slightly higher price, the matalbog ride...

i'd still go for the civic... its the top of its class, drive a civic, 3, focus, altis, exalta, and lancer in 60, 90, 120, 150kph... then you'll know the difference...

i doesnt mean na it is modern looking it is advance... sa engine pa lang may edge na civic... 2.0L civic 155hp, 1.6L 130hp... to think sohc lang ang 1.6 na civic... kung sa 2006 civic... yun top of the line nun by honda+mugen evo killer na eh... 300hp...

siguro bias kasi civic car ko... pero di ka magsisi... kahit magchange na ng body, feeling ko hindi pa rin maluluma yun civic... look at esi and the hatchback and even the Ef body... after three generations it is still hot... sometimes new is hot kasi parang fresh... parang yun mga bagong cars na wala dati sa pinas, medyo hot kasi 'fresh face' pa lang sila ngayon...

IMHO......nung lumabas yung focus last year d2 sa shenzhen, nagbalak akong bumili, pero di ako gaano naimpress, lalo quality ng color nya sa mga dark-toned, pero silver-grey ok lang...interior...maganda n rin compared sa iba.....nagbalak na nga akong itrade yung current car ko kahit 4mos pa lang sya for focus....d2 kasi sa shenzhen dami na ring euro cars kaya kakasawa na rin kahit look-alike sya.

......until i saw the civic sa net....everything changed...and can't wait to see it.. though iba-iba yung versions na lumabas sa mg spy pics....it was still on the perfection stage. interiorwise....bow ako....pero don sa mga latest pics na lumabas seems ok n sya..mapa-sedan,hotchback or coupe. marami nga lang sigurong maninibago sa dating nya...but we need to move forward to new styles and designs. for me it is not more of a city-look alike car....mas hawig sya sa odessey-I....matalas at aerodynamics....just look at the grille at quality ng paint nya.
just can't wait to trade my current car.

just two things about the new civic design....either u really luv it or badly hate it...kanyakanyang taste lang kasi yan eh...some people are very traditional and still prefer those nicely, sweet-curves or even boxy cornered tsikots...while others, like me, like nice, sharp and sleek curves, futuristic lines...and the insertions of what others might say 'illproportioned' features....believe me...the designers intentionally do these to "break" the monotony and at the same time create "issues"...
