We have a 7th gen Accord 2.4 so I'm familiar with how it runs. I understand that the 2.0 is somewhat underpowered, though the 2.4 is not. FC is at around 6-7km/L with a VERY light foot. Acceleration is brisk and has no problem hitting 200km/h and slightly beyond even. 5 speed A/T is a brilliant transmission. You almost wouldn't miss the lack of manual mode. Quality of cabin materials and switchgear are of a much higher level than the 6th gen. Audio system is integrated with the auto climate control though, which makes it somewhat difficult for aftermarket modification. Auto climate control can also be a major headache down the line, especially if parts cannot be found if something fails.
I suggest the 6th gen 2.3M/T if it's gonna be some sort of weekend/project car. If it's mostly gonna stay stock, then 7th gen 2.4A/T. I'm sure the 6th gen 2.3M/T should have better performance than ours, having minimal power difference and the advantage of lower weight and the manual tranny.

I asked 2 non-enthusiasts (my sister and girlfriend) if the Accord looks prestigious and comparable to a Mazda 3 or 6.
They unanimously said no and didn't find the 90s look attractive. Worth it daw yung double the price ng Mz3 and Mz6 because they look like much more expensive and better cars.
Which leads me to think, do I wait for a nice Mz6 to come by, or get a Mz3 2.0, or still pursue the cheaper option of an Accord 2.3 VTi-L?

Yeah women tend to love curvy cars.
Mz6 or mz3? That's hard but forced to make a choice based on your wants, I'll get a mz3 2.0.
Though I have no experience on these cars I'm assuming a lighter car with 2.0 has better performance.
At this point I think it's best to set aside the accord. I mean... I think the opinion of your sister and gf has weight on the matter.
Wait till next year para mag lower price ng mz3 or mz6.
Actually my girlfriend doesn't like the FD even if it's curvy and futuristic because it's too common, and says that even the 6th gen Accord is a more respectable car.
The Mz3 is actually slower than the Mz6. The Mz3 only has 141 hp for a rather porky 1365 kg, while the Mz6 has 164 hp for just 100 kg more at 1442 kg. Power to weight ratio of the 3 is 103 hp/ton vs 113 hp/ton for the 6 which is pretty significant. The 6 also has a 5-speed auto which means better gear ratios.
I guess their inputs made me realize that I was just trying to convince myself that the Accord is no longer the looker that I thought it to be when I was younger. I was driving home tonight and chanced upon a beige 6th gen Accord, exactly like what I'm eyeing. Its length and boxy outline still appeal to me, but more as a classic 90's weekend toy than as a daily-driven executive sedan. It's just that the 2.3 VTEC and manual tranny seems like such a good drivetrain to have even if it's an old car.
But the more I look at the 3 cars, the Mz6 and Mz3 really look like they come from a much newer era than the Accord. I'll still check out this 2.3 VTi-L that I already scheduled tomorrow since I booked my mechanic already, but I wouldn't mind passing on the offer if it doesn't win my heart when I drive it.
Between the 6 and the 3 though, I still think the 6 is the better option. I mean, if we assume both cars were brand new and were both sold at 1M, anyone would choose the 6 over the 3 right? More power, more features, more space, and better looks definitely outweigh the higher FC and maintenance costs. It's no different in the secondhand market and I should be taking advantage of the steep depreciation of midsizers. Thing is, I don't know how long I'll be waiting until a reasonably priced white/silver/black/beige Mazda 6 2.3 comes along.

I've had the pleasure of riding a Mazda 6 2.3 once. It's more of a sports sedan than an executive sedan for me. I feel that it is not as refined as the same-era 7th gen Accord, but it's definitely much sportier. Performance more than matches up, and it's got manual mode to go with that 5 speed A/T. Very nice car, as long as you can find one (and not a 2.0 unit).

I checked out an Accord today and was disappointed. Kaya pala mura, kasi binaha according to my mechanic. Siyempre ayaw umamin nung seller. I have a distrust for these buy and sell guys talaga.
The engine and suspension was fine but there were more things going wrong than right for the electricals, and the body had obvious signs of major damage. 300,000 on the odometer isn't very encouraging either.
Maganda pictures sa internet but looking closer revealed so much flaws.
Looks like I'll really go for a newer car. Finding an immaculate Accord is just as hard as finding a Mazda 6.

We had an m6 before, and i believe its the first and only m6 here in baguio, based on the plates and since i rarely encounter them. That was way back in 2005. Anyhow, the car was quite impressive. Never had a problem on the mountain roads here as it was fast, and was quite responsive. I loved that car. Only bad thing is fuel economy, never went above 6km/l on manual computation. But do bear in mind that i live here in baguio and that car rarely goes out of town.
Sadly, we had to sell them to make way for SUVs. I still miss that m6. Better than both camry and accord for me.

Dito lang sa Paranaque. Kumuha lang ako mechanic and pinakalas ko lahat ng pangilalim.
Binili ko lahat sa alabang parts pyesa tapos yun na. Yung iba tinakbo ko kay cruven para mapress yung bushing.
Binayaran ko mechanic 3k for 3 days. Hehe.
Alignment and underwash sa shell.
Pwede naman replacement lang bro.
Sa mga parts store meron replacement.
Yung labor, madali lang... Usually parts store would recommend saan papagawa.
Looking for a fresh, old car really needs patience. We sold our 2004 Accord 3.0V6 last February with 71tkms on the clock and in pretty much showroom condition. There really are such finds, though it's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Alam naman natin laging negotiable ang mga ganyan. Lalo na't midsize sedan, mas mahirap ibenta. Manual pa siya, mas konting may gusto. 250k asking sa huli baka 200 nalang yan or even less. From what I can see in the pictures, sariwa naman siya lalo na yung leather seats, which is quite rare for a car this age. I'd say it's worth a visit.

Nung nagtext kasi ako, offer ko 175 or 200 kung kasama mags. Nagpass siya. Sabi ko kunin ko 200k or 225k with mags, ayaw pa rin. Saka siya nagoffer ng 250k with the mags.
Parang ayoko kagatin even if maayos yung car kasi nga ang lapit na sa Mazda 3 price.
