February 18th, 2013 04:30 PM #1Hi Tsikoteers,
I'm planning to get a new car next month. We're torn between Fort and Monty. I'm leaning towards the Fort but Mitsubishi is offering bigger discounts. Practicality wise, Montero gets my vote.
Halos pareho lang naman sila. Kung kayo ako, ano pipiliin nyo? My only concern about the Montero is, I've been reading a lot of hearsays that it tends to emit black smoke kahit bago pa sya.
How about yung steering nila, alin ang mas magaan sa kanila?
I know there's a lot of comparo between the two cars. Dont have time magback thread, eh.
Comments will be highly appreciated

February 18th, 2013 06:21 PM #3Wag naman sana maging ganun. Ang point of comparison ko kasi is deal maker ba for Mitsu yung malaking discounts na binibigay nila. Objective comments sana ang maging response
Gusto ko yung Fort. Close second yung Monty.

The current Fort rides better than before. You won't really notice the difference to the Monty unless you're going over stomach-churning rough roads, in which case, the Monty will make you want to throw up a little less.
The Fort steers better and has less body roll in the corners. Better driving ergonomics (meaning the driving position is better). The Montero has more legroom in the third row, but the Fort's third row has better cushioning.
In most ways, patas lang sila. Monty is better at some things, Fort is better at others. The decision of which to buy may come down to whether you think the ridiculous 178 hp of the Montero GLS-V (34 big horses more than the Toyota) is a deal-breaker.
Also consider the Trailblazer. More refinement than either of the others, and the ride is much better.

but i would suggest you get the fortuner. mas gusto mo ata ang fortuner e. buy what you really want

February 18th, 2013 10:59 PM #10I like the Fort and not really concerned on the ride. I know mas maganda pa rin ang ride nya sa current car ko.
Not also bothered kahit 178 hp ang Montero, kasi as far as I know 100 kph lang ang speed limit sa mga high ways dito. Di ko rin naman papatakbuhin ng mabilis since most of the time sakay ko mga kids ko.
Not really considering TB kahit nagagandahan ako sa kanya. Not really that knowledgeable in cars kaya i prefer to join the bandwagon.
Sayang din kasi yung matitipid Besides, ang vote ni wifey is which ever is cheaper since for her they are just basically the same.
I'm also wondering kung parehong mahaba ang waiting time para units nila
Thanks for the comments and keep them coming. I still have two weeks to ponder on this.
