    if it matters hehehe,

i have an '02 Altis 1.8G...best toyota i've had so far ('96 XE, '00 GLI)!

mileage (on velocity): 7-8 in the city, 15 on the highway...i luv that part :-) dahil siguro nga yun sa binanggit na power-to-weight ratio...

yung sa tranny naman, pag city driving mas gusto ko naka disengage yung power mode nya. i really don't like the way it works at city speeds (below 50kph), as it downshifts too early at magastos pa sa gas. pero sa hi-way, masarap yung power mode niya, enjoy! hehehe

but i really love its "brad pitt" torque esp in city traffic ;-)

my only gripes against it were the fake wood panelling (too light in shade), the seat cushions are a bit too firm, the drivers seat back cant be leaned up and forward as far other cars i've driven, and the yokohamas that came with it... but i felt i got my money's worth on this car

nothing against honda, in fact i love its smooth ride. kaso, it looks so small inside and outside for a 4-door sedan ...and shall i say plain? maybe the accord would be nice :-)

but going back to the original question? hmmm...i'd stick w/ the toyota, but in manual trans if i want to enjoy the peppy 1.6L engine. i still hold the opinion that for an A/T to work efficiently you need at least a 1.8L engine, for the compact sedans

Altis pa rin. I pretty much believe it will have a higher resale value in the long run.

Nothing against Honda but one of my colleagues got a Civic VTI-S one month after i got my Vios. Last month, i noticed that there was a Honda tow truck on our company Motorpool. It turns out that his gas tank fell out while he was driving along Malinta.

tol, para sa akin kung civic or altis- i would prefer altis, both are good cars co'Z i have already this before and recently i'd bought new crv-which still honda, why? i don't know! may be i like the saleswomen, anyway -wag na tayong lumayo sa topic na gusto mo.well here in the middle east, iam here working-for many years stayed and experience having a car,one thing i know that when you sellng or sawa kana sa tsikot mo,especially toyota ay the value of toyota compare to honda is more,i mean mas-mataas at kaya mong ibenta na ayon sa dika malulugi at higit sa lahat ang piyesa nya ay mas-mura kaysa sa honda.ito lang ang mababahagi ko sayo sa lakaran ng sasakyan d2 sa m.e. ngayon nasa iyo parin ang huling desisyon dahil ikaw ang bibili at gagamit, ang sa akin ay experience ko d2,have a nice day and i hope i give you some hints and regards there in philippines-mabuhay kayo dyan...
