So far, Suzuki is a small player and their dealership network is quite limited also. I haven't experienced their service, but I have read someone here with a Suzuki APV who seems to be satisfied with the service. Parts might be a problem, only because their presence here is quite limited, but I dont know for sure.

If you want the assurance of supposedly good quality and parts, go for the Toyota. But Toyota gives current buyers of its vehicles a bad experience (as you noted yourself with the Fortuner) from the buying process and as well as questionable after sales service and commitment (check their response in this lastest of spate of defect) .

I have had no problems with Suzuki service. Third party support is quite good with Suzuki-only parts specialist stores in Banawe and Araneta Ave.

Even GlennSter's store stocks Zuk replacement and maintenance parts.

I'd go for the grand vitara, masyado malayo ang price difference with the rav4, you could buy a vios with the change.

Fortuner parin siguro, price difference is not that big with the sorrento, you get the toyota brand plus parts support in the future

Well, if you can get a Korean version of Sorento like mine with third row seat, light sensing headlights, battery saver function and sunroof, it's definitely a bang for the buck.

I think RAV4 and Grand Vitara are both good although RAV4 is expensive. Fortuner is ok although a bit too big if driven daily.

Sorento, has good value but I'm not sure if its worth spending 1.2M+ for a Korean car at least here in the Philippines for now. With a 1.2M to 1.5M budget, I'm sure you want a car with some image and presence too but I think that's what most Korean cars still lacks (no offense to Sorento owners). Pretty much the same as the Hyundai Coupe I guess (cool looking and good value but still very few takers).

    imo,

RAV4 AWD vs. Grand Vit: RAV4 if you can afford it
RAV4 FWD vs. Grand Vit and all you'll be using it on-road only: RAV4

but Grand Vit is pretty good anyway.

    Fortuner 4x4 vs Sorento: Fortuner
    Fortuner 4x2 vs Sorento: Sorento

Honestly, I liked the Grand Vitara and even prodded my dad to get that car. He didn't because he found it too small. So he waited and waited... Eventually, he bought the new RAV4 4x2. It was my second time to ride in it today and after a longer drive than my first ride, I must say it's a good car. Spacious, comfortable and the build quality is good.

Is it expensive, yes. Is it worth the money, I think for my dad's needs yes. Inside it's bigger than the sorento in terms of overall space. The cargo space is definitely bigger since we were able to fit a wheelchair inside the cargo space without folding it. We couldn't in the Sorento.

If you require an SUV that drives like a car, spacious, and good overall value, go for the RAV. The extra money is worth it. If you're a single guy wanting a sporty SUV that is good looking and "affordable" the Grand Vitara is a good choice.

I personally love the styling of the Vitara but after seeing the two, I'll tend to lean towards the RAV. Not because my dad has one but overall it's a better car in my opinion.

the all new rav4, being the most expensive among them, has its corresponding value naman... especially if you compare feature for feature, none of them really can match it.
In terms of safety features, no other compact or mid size SUV offer maximum protection like RAV4 does, may dual air bags, side air bags na, meron pang curtain shield air bags... (which are available mostly to luxury cars)
in terms of mechanical features, it has cruise control, downhill assist control, active torque control 4WD (one of the major improvement from the previous RAV4) in which the driver has the option to completely lock the drive mechanism to AWD or simply AWD in auto mode for fuel economy.

what i'm not sure here is whether our local version is equipped with the integrated active drive or not... does anyone know?
