May sabi mas maganda strada and ranger kasi may Turbo, totoo ba?

Turbocharging is just one aspect of fuel economy. You'd have to take into account weight, aerodynamics, gearing, tires, driving style etc.

Hi, ang sabi nila the old Hilux SRJ or SR5 has no turbo daw. I'm referring to the old strada with 2d56 engine.

Btw, according to the VEHICLE'S MANUAL, at 60T km odo reading, dapat we should change our timing belt/ chain na, do you do that? Or antay masira ang belt/chain?

Kasi according to mechanic, di lang timing belt/chain ang papalitan, pati daw mga tension bearings.. etc..

Turbocharging is a method of acheiving more power without a drastic increase in fuel consumption. It does not mean that a turbocharged 4d56 will be more economical than a normally aspirated 4d56. Rather it means that the turbo 4d56 is making more mid and top end power while still maintaining the fuel economy of a NA 4d56 when off-boost (e.g. low rpms).

If you wait for the timing belt to break, better buy a new engine. AFAIK, almost all new engines are of the interference type. Meaning if you break the belt, you also run the risk of bending the valves, scoring the pistons, etc.

Timing belt replacement is part of maintenance. However, since you've already dismanted the front half of the engine, it is also a good time to put in new tensioners and a new water pump instead of having to dismantle again in the future (preventive maintenance).

The old Hilux did not have a turbo. It made around 80bhp? Test drive one first. A Strada with 99bhp feels underpowered to some people already.

I'm now driving a 2004 revo 2.4 diesel engine with 32K mileage,ok naman for fuel efficiency medyo mabagal lang ang pick up, it so happen a friend offered me to swap his 2004 Strada 4x4 (with 55k mileage), pero add pa daw ako ng 250K. At first ok ako, but came across a mechanic, sabi nya, I have to make preventive maintenance when the strada reaches 60T mileage (which Otep say is true). kaya nag-dadalawang isip ako. What you think guys?

Is it worth the swaP since add pa ako 250K? Ano kaya ang disadvantages owning a strada than a revo? I never drove one pa.

Advantage. All terrain. Very robust. Interior is nicer than a REVO's.

Mga Php5k lang naman magpalit ng timing belt. And you can do it at around 80k kms naman. Maybe the manual said 60,000 miles which is roughly equivalent to 100,000kms.

Matagtag? Bouncy ride? For you sir, would you swap plus 250K? Bihira naman ako nagkakarga kaya my friends told me to stick out with Revo, kasi pang pamilya. Yun strada, maganda pang porma and hill climbing (which I don't do).

Among the three... the Ranger has the highest hp & torque output (117hp).

Good acceleration though the tranny is really rubbery & trucklike. But still it is a good vehicle overall.

Dati inisip ko din mag-pick up. Yung mga last remaining Mazda B-series ng FMC. Kaso wala akong mapapaglagyan ng gamit kapag may trips, nag-grocery, etc. Kaya van na lang kinuha ko. Wala din naman ako ikakarga sa likod ng pickup. Bihira lang.

useless naman talaga cargo area ng pick-up eh walang mailagay. waste of space. imagine dala-dala ko araw araw na strada, kalahati ng consume ko space sa kalsada walang use.

yun L300FB is the best kapag namimili at nag-dedeliver. sa SM Home center nga pag may binibili ako furniture, binibigay ko lang susi sa mga taga-SM saka Plate number kung minsan. bahala na sila mag-load. I dont even have to worry kung magasgas kasi designed naman dun yun. eh sa pickup conscious na conscious ako sa pintura lalo na sa mga pahinante walang paki.

The Pajero will not ride like a car. Pero it is less harsh than a Strada. Best pa din if you do a test drive. Some people find Pajeros 'matagtag' also. Sakin ok lang naman. Local at converted will depend on condition of actual unit. My '96 rides better than the abused '01 Pajero owned by the hospital.

The Strada has its own purpose. If it fits your needs, ok naman siya.

if you already have a driver, dont get the strada! trust me. the backseats are 90 degree seating most of the time. the passenger side is not exactly comfortable either. crammed leg room.

mas ok ang strada for bachelors or 1-2 passengers lang. mahihirapan mga anak mo. I suggest you get a van na lang instead.

van dari ang gusto ko, kahit NISSAN URVN lang kasi my mura dito, pero since ako lang nagdadrive, sabi nila magmukha daw akong Driver. hahaha.. Daming van dito na ginagawa din pangmasada.

Just a sneak Q, which Van you think is best, NISSAN URVAn, TOYO COMMUTER, MITS L300, or MB100 ? Mukhang luma na kasi ang Mits L300 (di nagbago ang itsura ever since.).

Sir Otep, from the original asking additional nya ng 250K, he lowered it to 160K na, parang ang labas ng total price nya is 700K na lang(kasi I'm selling my revo at 540K). nag test drive ako kanina, mas matigas ang steering nya, is it because mas malaki ang tire nya or may ibang reasons? Kasi ang reason binigay sa akin are the tires daw. While driving, I felt it's really a lot bigger than my revo, mas may power kaysa revo. at mahirap magover take.

My only problem now is the cargo area. If i'll get it I have a buy a campershell or at least something to cover on para makalagay ako ng groceries ko every weekend.

Btw, napansin ko mga replies dito most are nuetral or at least not Pro-Strada.

fuel consumption 9-10km/ltr city driving. usually I fill up average of 55-56 liters full tank then reset the meter. more than 500-550km bago full tank ulit.

hehehe, not very useful for groceries ang cargo bay kahit may campershell ka pa unless you like to extend your hands. yun cargo door pa lang nya pinapalayo ka na nya sa groceries mo

the strada is a keeper vehicle. if you watch MacGyver and superman movies using yun 1950's na pickup. yan ang tingin ko sa strada hehehe.
but i'll never buy a pickup again kahit na anong ganda pa ng triton or hilux ngaun.

best thing lang sa mga 4x4 pickups, smaller cars are afraid of you, baka magulungan ng malalaking gulong hehehe
