    Hi,

I just recently found this forum at kakaregister ko lang and I don't want to waste any time to get in touch with you guys.
I had read some posts and nakita ko na madaming matutulungin sa forum na to(napatunayan ko sa post ni tsinelas, hehe).

    Ok, here's the thing...
My wife and I are planning to buy our first car.
We have our kid and ofcourse alam nyo na na basta nabanggit ung anak eh low budget un...haha

Sure i know how to drive pero pagdating sa specs and other things wala ko kaalam alam.

    Salamat and More power!

just take away from A/T cars for that age of car. try to consider nissan cars. you can have higher models for that budget.
honda city 97-98 for 140k is not enough but for nissan it can suffice, like what you've said mataas ang resale ng honda, prestige daw eh

Nyahaha~ Honda fanboy ba bro?

A family friend bought a '98 City A/T for 160k, if I remember right. Hanap ka nalang ng all power. Yung iba dun half power lang (front power windows, rear hand crank), yung iba pa no power talaga.

Practice necessary precaution dahil 15 year old car narin ito. Baka makalampag na at marami pang aayusin, o kaya nabaha.

Other cars worth considering would be the B14 Sentra EFI or the Ford Lynx M/T. IMHO, both look better and are more spacious than the 1st gen City.

    Honda -- ridiculous resale value
    Pizza lancer -- ridiculous suspension

So you're left with two japanese brands
    Nissan and Toyota

For 140k, you can get either a 93 GLi Bigbody or a B14 Sentra. Both are EFi. Both are big enough. Both have spare parts ready (tho the Toyota might have more available) and both are reliable.

    No ATs please!

    Used car reviews:
THE ULTIMATE USED CAR GUIDE: Used Car Review - Toyota Corolla (1993-1998)
THE ULTIMATE USED CAR GUIDE: Used Car Review - Nissan Sentra (1995-2001)

If I were you to get a Sentra, EX Saloon of 1995 onwards or kung meron, Super Saloon.
If I were you to get a Corolla, GLi since the XE models or lower have carburetors that can have lower fuel economy tsaka no power (except steering)

    Good luck!

b14 sentra for the win. below 140k madami nagbebenta nyan, kung 96 model pataas talaga ang hanap mo.. but if you really like a honda for your 1st car, i think madami civic ESI ngayon na swak sa budget mo.. yun nga lang 95 model pababa sya

Nope! Hyundai was never good before, ngayon lang. Or at least until the 00 Starexes came out.

The GLi 93 is all power. Basta GLi na Corolla all power na yan
