If it uses a 4AGE, you should have little to no problem with engine parts. But then if something model specific breaks down, you may have some problems in hunting for parts. No parts would mean the car would be sitting useless in the garage till such time that you are able to dig up parts. The horror... Especially if it's your only car which you depend upon to go to work daily.

Ano po bang concerns with regards sa tdci vs FD? And if ever what are the things to look out for upon checking yung TDCI? pano din po ba nalalaman kung nabaha?

The TDCi is a good engine. I have never heard of any lemon reports so far. But then try to stay away from the high mileage units, there may be lots of stuff needing replacement, and commonrail engine parts ain't cheap. As with any turbo diesel, check if the turbo is being cooled down after hard/long driving. If this is not practiced, premature turbo breakdown is expected, as experienced by many Accent CRDi cab drivers.

Differences are basically cosmetic. I'm not familiar with the spec sheet, but as far as I know, the only significant difference is the change of the sole tranny option from 6 speed manual to 6 speed dual clutch matic.

Syempre nasa Focus na tayo bro! TDCi is a big advantage for me. I have a heavier right foot as compared to most people, but am still conscious of fuel consumption. TDCi gives me both excellent performance and excellent fuel efficiency. Why not? Whereas with the FD you can only have one.

Not to mention that it takes lesser money to squeeze more power out of the TDCi as compared to the gas powered FD.
