Hi mga ser, looking to get the new Vios or the new Fiesta.
Torn between budget and safety features.
    Budget is 700k to 750k.
Priority: Safety (i.e., dual air bag, ABS).

    Vios:
Upon checking sa site: Toyota - VIOS
Vios 1.5G lang ang meron dual air bags which is Php 812k MT (over budget).
Yung 1.3E Php 727k, pasok sana sa budget pero driver only air bag.

    Fiesta:
Upon checking sa site: Ford Philippines | Exterior
Lahat ng variants ng Fiesta merong dual bags. Entry-level ng Fiesta is Php 698k MT (pasok sa budget).

Gusto ko po sana Vios due to its reputation of reliability and fuel economy. Pero yung top of the line lang ang may dual air bags?

For Fiesta, mukang full-featured maski yung entry-level. Not sure lang about its reliability and fuel economy. Worth the wait po kaya ang 1.0 EcoBoost? (baka ma-over budget din hehe)

What's your opinion mga ser? TIA.

What about honing your driving skills instead by enrolling in a professional driving school? I'm pretty sure that'll help you loads in "safety" versus ABS airbags.

Personally, I've never even had my airbags activated in my entire life. I heard it hurts like **** though. I won't bank on purchasing a car just for the number of airbags it has.

Agree sir. TY.

agree with that. im sure TS, as a driver, you wouldn't want to test the airbags first hand. as long as you have a driver side airbag, it's fine. be a responsible driver lang and im sure you'll stay out of harm's way. with regards to the topic itself, despite how stylish and more sporty the fiesta is, i'll go with the vios 1.3G M/T or 1.3E M/T. if you can stretch your budget a little more, i think dealers are giving big discounts to the current gen Altis.

    agree to this one.

pero please double check TS, kasi ako gen2 1.3G i have dual airbags na.

By the way, between the two, no pun intended i like the vios more compared to fiesta. i just do not know why but its just my personal preference.

Well, to be frank, I doubt both of them would be any safer if there's a brake-less bus hurling your way at 100 km/h but I'll throw my vote on the Vios. At the best, at least your guaranteed not to wait a month for a new door to arrive :naughty2:

if you aren't in a hurry, save a bit more money to increase your budget and get the 1.5G m/t vios. di nanaman ganun kalakihan ang 750k to get to 812k

Here's the troll again that posted at "all new 2013 Vios tread" that he's big time friend already purchased 300 units of the all new Vios.

*TS, I was choosing between the 2, but it boiled down to FC and durability that's why I choose the Vios. But if the 1.0 ecotec version was available that time, I would have gone to toss coin in deciding.

It's rude to claim a person to be a troll. Who knows if it's true? Who knows if it's false? But what I know is that claiming somebody to be a troll is rude in the forums. I already read his past posts and it seems like he pretty much posts like the 90% of the rest here in Tsikot.

Get the Vios. The car has the best bang for your buck IMHO. Do not aspire for cars that have engines smaller than 1300 cc. I just don't see 1 liter or lower engines surviving the long haul.

Oh right, I remember you, you used the word "irresponsible" from the Vios thread.

Im a fan of the new vios but personally id only get it if my budget can only go as far as the 1.3J model. Because beyond that price point there are a lot of other better cars. It will also depend on what you want in a car. Kung talagang importante sayo yung airbags then go for it. Sabi nila overrated ang airbags cause all we really need are the seatbelts but personally id feel safer with the airbags. Tsaka you never know when youll forget to fasten your seatbelt and **** happens diba. Better to have those around. Its one of the reasons why i preferred to get my car right now. Yung iba kasi tinipid yung pasahero sa airbag.

Anyways kung ako papapiliin ill get the fiesta. Like i said depende yun sa gusto/priorities mo. Eh matimbang talaga sakin yung looks. Sobrang headturner nung bagong fiesta. Pero iba pa rin talaga toyota when it comes to reliability/durability.

Unless you need the extra space, I'll get the Fiesta.

But really, it depends on your priorities and preferences. Recently kasi, I've seen a lot of new Vios units roaming around and it seems to have lost its wow factor already (like what I said on the Vios thread) unlike the Fiesta, which to me personally, is still a decent looking vehicle. Looks more expensive, too.

I'm not so sure if the issues with the powershift (1.6S units) is addressed already but if it isn't, then might as well settle for the 1.4L Fiesta instead. Wouldn't matter to me anyway, at least you get to save few bucks

If you forgot to fasten your seatbelt and **** happened and your airbag deploys it's going to do you more harm than good. Seatbelt pa rin with or without airbag.

We were choosing between the Fiesta and the Vios before. The Vios won because we needed the space.
