Maybe they tuned the engine for a higher output. We all know how easy they can tinker the output of turbo engines.

There's AT for both 1.4 turbo gas and 2.0 turbo diesel. I got the gas AT.

VW offers AT tranny in DSG (dual clutch) for all Jetta models locally (2.0L TDI, 1.6L TDI, and 1.4L turbo gas). All versions of the Golf, the VW Beetle 1.4T, Tiguan TDI, and Passat 2.0T also use the same DSG tranny.

Couldn't figure it out myself. The Passat is really quick against the clock, despite both having the same output on paper.

Hmmm... wonder if I could get both down to Speedlab for a dyno-check.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

That 2.0L TFSI engine being shared across VW brands is more capable than the 220hp tune on the Golf GTI. In some applications, the engine is good for 300hp and 400Nm. Maybe the Passat 2.0L TFSI is rated 220hp at the wheels. hehehehe.

Anyone knows what is the minimum fuel RON rating for Jetta 1.4 TSI? The sales agent said 97 to be safe, but I get mixed response from various Volkswagen forums.

    Thanks.

I guess to be safe you can use a minimum of 95RON fuel for 1.4L TFSI engine. Ford recommends 95RON for their Ecoboost engines and Subaru also recommends the same for their turbo engines. I use Shell V-Power Nitro+ for both my Fiesta Ecoboost and Forester XT. Medyo tricky kung minimum of 97RON kasi limited ka lang to Shell V-Power Nitro+ Racing, Seaoil Extreme97, at Petron Blaze. Sa 95RON, dami ka options.

Small rant on my end, sayang lang free gas card ni wifey sa office nya kasi Petron Xtra lang yung free. Di kasama yung Petron XCS.

Thanks bro. I'll start with 95 and observe if there's any knocking (I hope none).

You won't hear any knocking since most modern engines have anti-knock feature ...

Even if the engine does not knock, it does not mean that it's ok ... Put the right Octane / RON fuel in your engine for better efficiency ...

Any new Volkswagen owner here who added reverse camera? Where did you have it done? Am considering it. Thanks.

Yup, you are right, gas flap says RON95.

The issue mainly is that not all brands who have RON95 products are trusted to really have RON95, as some just use additives to RON91/93 and then brand it as RON95. Am no expert here, so perhaps our dear friends from oil industry can share their view.

    Thanks.

More often, we sell 95 RON as 95 rather than the inverse. It's safer for us to downgrade than to pass off 91 as 95 as the latter has huge sanctions from the DOE if caught.

If the manual states 95, load up on 95. 👍

In them, the control unit for the antilock brake system may fail when the system or the auto's electronic stability control are activated.

Volkswagen will notify owners, and repairs will be made free of charge.

The automaker traced the problem to the use of an incorrect solder compound, which may cause cracks that prevent sufficient electrical power to flow.
