If you don't want to lose 100k in resale value, don't buy a car. Period.
The only way to not lose in terms of resale value is to buy a secondhand vehicle. Buy it in cash and negotiate hard, use it for six months, then sell it for as much as you bought it, or more. There are some people who do that, but it's not for everyone.
Buy a brand new car, even a Toyota or a Honda, and you lose at least 50-100k in the first year. And you'll be spending around 100k pesos per year for gasoline, PMS and insurance. (Given you'll be driving at 10,000 kms per year).
In other words, **** resale value. It's a secondary concern. If you pick a car that's economical and easy to maintain, it should have a good resale value. If it doesn't, yet is still more durable and economical than the car that does have a good resale value, you should be able to save the difference in five years.
And people who only keep cars five years are wasting their money. The best way to maximize your bang for buck is to hold onto the car for at least ten years
Or until something newer catches your eye...

leather upholstery, well, hindi talaga.
lowering spring, pwede yan ( palitan mo ng stock ) body kit ( la ka naman ipapalit dito so pwedeng tanggalin unless nabutasan yung doors and stuff ... ) pwede rin. Lalo na yung mags.

Kind of OT... I saw in a commercial that Hyundai USA is offering people (new car buyers) a guarantee on how much their hyundai will be worth in up to 4 years ata. That plus the 5 year bumper to bumper, 10 year power train warranty and they will really have a nice choke hold on the market.... Maybe eventually rule the world! Muhahahahaa! But seriously, Hyundai is a scary contender now considering just a few years ago a lot of us wouldn't even consider them.
