Get a 2nd hand fortuner. Use the extra 150k for a proper 3-4" lift and big tires.

Subaru xt? chain driven water pump?

    ------

    Kay TS

Kung kaya mo mag Manual, I would recommend MT pa din.

At least tahimik yun. As long as di ka masyado intindi sa acceleration, lalo kung akyat baba ng bundok/burol like Tagaytay or Baguio (for leisure trips).

Fox Shox makes a 2.0 coilover lift kit for the last gen Fortuner. Medyo mahal but that will address the notoriously bad ride quality.

Bro your post made the most sense. Fortuner best option at that price. Kahit walang lift yakang yaka na.

Use it for 5 years, taas pa rin ng resale value.

I survived UST mid-90s with a box type and later a 90's Lancer...

Sa tropa namin noon, iisa naka-Pajero, lahat kami Sedan.

Believe me, kapag bumaha, kahit anong SUV di mo mai-uuwi kasi di naman lulusong yong nasa harap mo.

Buy the car that you want...

I'd go w/ a previous gen Jimny. Simple, worry-free & reliable. You can snag a lifted, snorkeled 1 for way less your budget....should that be your thing. I'd go for a stock '15up tho.[emoji106]

I don't know why I have an impression that the Jimny's ride is so uncomfortable , and it's so small, parang di pwede sumakay mataba.

Since TS is a college student wag naman yung Daddy or Tito car hehehe.

I don't vote for the Rush and Jimny. That's me channeling my college/teen mindset hahaha

BTW sa mga girl officemates (that can mistake an innova from a fort and a vios from an altis) marami pa din impressed sa Fortuner

Jimny is more for students than titos, ma'am. Their young backs have a higher threshold for its rugged ride.[emoji4]
It's built tougher than that badge w/ a Built Tough slogan. Any parent, given the budget, would feel more confident about the Jimny than any small car. The limited space is good excuse to not invite unwanted free-rides or extracurricular trips. PPVs & Pickups? They'll only call parental worries more.[emoji4]

    jimny.
    light weight.
    short wheelbase.
    tall ride height.
    matagtag talaga.

    sedan.
    heavier (relatively) car.
    longer wheelbase.
    low ride height.
    smoother ride.

    but for young ones,
"matagtag might not be an issue."

With his budget, whatever savings from getting a good used Jimny will be more than enough to soften it up, doc.[emoji4]

I'm trying to think as a teenager and the Jimny is a tito/daddy car IMO, hindi naman pang teen ager yan e :P

As a parent, I will give my son the coolest car I can afford Ayoko naman ng car na aasar asarin anak ko because it's small or matagtag, lalo na lalaki pa naman.
