November 28th, 2012 09:23 PM #1mga bro, help naman.. nahihirapan na o magdecide e.. may 250k cash na ko pambili ng car kaya lang i dunno what to do with it..
a. pangdo-down ko sa isang brand new car? brand new MITSUBISHI MIRAGE for example, kasi ung fuel efficient talaga ang hanap ko..
since brand new, i know di ako magkakaron ng sakit sa ulo dahil i know 100% ok siya.. yun nga lang pag naiisip ako na i'd be paying for it for the next 5years, parang napapa-ngiwi ako e..

November 29th, 2012 12:09 AM #3It is against my personal code of conduct to owe money, so I'd say no to amortization. That is, unless you already have the money on hand, and would just opt to spend it little by little. I'd buy what I can afford with the money I have on hand right now. If I have more money later on and would want a better car, I'd sell or trade in at that point in time.
Kung kaya ng tuhod mo at fuel efficiency ang habol, you're better off with the manual. You get better performance too. Personally for a daily driver, I would still prefer a manual. A Vios 1.5A/T is not a very fuel efficient ride, especially if you compare it with diesels. If you run lots of highway though, this is a good proposition. 125tkms is a tad high for its age, but not unheard of. If his daily route consists mostly of highway driving then its worth a look. For a fuel efficient city car mostly just for yourself driving to and from work, I'd suggest you consider a Kia Picanto. Mid to late 2000s models will fit your budget.

put it this way, if you buy 2nd hand with that mileage, chances are, you'll be spending for repairs anytime soon, (maybe the reason why the owner is selling it, too) so you have down time for repairs and extra money too. Or you can just get a brand new and have it financed, less headache.
been there done that. bought 2 pre owned, in span of 4yrs, monthly, meron maintenance/replacement, til the time we realized its almost equal to monthly amortization, so there, sold it and got a brand new, no problem in 2yrs of ownership, (except for the annual insurance).
BTW my preowned cars were merely clocking a little over 60T Km when i got them (between 6-8yr old cars) . Medyo laspag lang talaga ang oto sa takbuhan sa akin, kasi, I reach 5T Km in just 2months. kaya go figure ang useage ko.
But if you think ang useage mo for the car is very limited run lang, say maka 5T Km ka every 6mos or more then having a good condition 2nd hand car isnt bad.

November 29th, 2012 10:10 AM #6there is no wrong in paying "amortization" actually it helps the economy especially if done the right way meaning you can pay.. why spend your 1million cash when you can pay only the down payment, pay the amortization and invest the remaining cash...
if its your first car, i suggest a 2nd hand car where you can learn the ways of owning a car... coz when you go brand new, you will never look back on 2nd hand cars...

kung laging traffic naman route mo kahit gaano pa ka fuel efficient yan, it will drink up a lot of gas during idle.

November 30th, 2012 09:21 PM #10tsaka sirs, ano po mas ok pag second hand, ilimit ko budget ko let's say P250k and kuha ko ng mga early 2000s na model and i-save yung matitira kong money for possible repairs and pampa-pogi nung car
or
isagad k na halos mga P300k and get a mid-2000 model car para fresh at bago-bago, lesser possible problems siguro?
tsaka suggest na din pi kayo models mga sirs na swak sa budget ko..thanks!!!!!
Choice I would have made as well.
