    Hi guys!

Im planning to buy my first car and im choosing between these two cars:

    1.)Toyota Corolla GLI 1998 (M/T) model.
    2.)Ford Lynx 2000 / 2001 (M/T) model.

Both cars have almost the same price in the market. (200 - 240k i think)

Which is better in terms of performance, maintenance and availability of parts? May I also ask the fuel consumption of each car? And final question, Is there a big significance or advantage in a 3 year age difference between these cars?

Thank you so much and more power!

I think you might be able to buy a newer Lynx in that budget. The Lynx is a bigger, better car, with a stiffer, (safer) chassis and more features. Downside is that you will need to go to the Ford/Mazda specialists in Banawe for some parts, as it's a newer engine design.

The Corolla has the benefit of simplicity, robust engineering and abundant sources of spare parts. It will probably have better economy, seeing as it's a lighter, smaller car with the notably efficient 4AFE engine.

More than the years, the actual condition of the units in question will matter. Especially if they're both EFI. Older EFI engines, due to age, the heat of traffic and other factors, tend to develop niggling electronic and vacuum problems that can be difficult to diagnose. Also make sure the engine is in good condition. It doesn't matter how good the engine is... if the previous owner neglected oil changes or waited 20,000 kilometers between oil changes, the engine will probably be toast.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

for that budget, you can get a 02-03 model Nissan Sentra's.

but IMO, 3 years difference is a big factor. Except kung ginawang taxi yung mas younger car, but in your case, wala namang Lynx na taxi.

but among the 2 choices, Ford Lynx for me.

Are the spare parts for Lynx really that expensive and hard to find? some of my friends told me na mahal daw po and mahirap ang maintenance ng Lynx, or Ford vehicles, luxury car na daw kasi.

    Thanks for all the inputs!
