Over the past two or three years a couple of brands started trickling down here. For passenger cars, most recently, there is CHERY (famous for supposedly infringing-read: copying outright-in the design of GM's Spark). Their showroom is in Buendia (must be the now-defunct Peugeot's showroom).
For trucks, there is JAC (acronym for Japanese quality, American design, Chines Price).
For bus, there is King Long.

wala pa bumibili since Chery was just launched a few months ago. JAC, I haven't seen any on the road so far. I guess JAC would have to fight out with the surplus vehicles. :D King Long buses, I have seen three or four units in the metro area, either as tourist bus or those hakot-passenger-in-the-middle-of-the-road-type.

Btw, I read Consumer Reports CARS alot. Do you think their New Car Price Service is worth the price?

Its basically a report that looks at details regarding any applicable rebates, unadvertised incentives, holdbacks, Invoice price, Sticker price, factory accessories, car buying advise and more. All that for $14.
We need a service like this here in the Philippines. Information regarding prices and etc. are all kept a secret, which is why it is difficult to wrangle with dealers.

August 23rd, 2007 05:02 PM #29OK yan bogart at marami kang matutulungang future buyers.

August 24th, 2007 02:35 AM #30Chattle Mortgage cannot be waived in the legat sense. This is the fee that the bank pays sa registry of deeds and BIR pag ang kotse ay naka mortgage sa banko. Kaya hindi ito pwede i waive.
What happens is that dealers will tell you waive na ito but in reality, they pay for it out of the discount na pwede pang ibigay pero hindi mo na hiningi.
Also meron mga tanga na customer na sobra tiwala sa mga loyal suki nilang ahente na nagta take advantage sa kanila...would you believe there are customers na nire renew ang chattle mortgage every year sabay ng insurance....yes there are BAD salesman that do this to ignorant customers...kawawa naman. Funny but true
Puwede i try, 1. Palit air filter 2. Linis throttle body 3. Linis MAF sensor 4. Check spark...
high idle RPM at engine start
