Bry, as earlier suggested, mag van for hire ka na lang. Mas mabilis ROI nito. Binenta namin yung L-300 namin last year sa secretary ni erpats. My dad's office is located in Makati and his secretary lives in Las Piņas. What she did is joined a transport cooperative in Las Piņas and pumipila sya din to ferry passengers to Makati. Php50/head to Makati. Then after work, pila naman sya sa Ayala Terminal (sa gilid ng Anson's). Php50/head to Las Piņas. The L-300 can seat 14 passengers so that's Php50 x 14= Php700 (per trip) and Php700 x 2 trips = Php1400 per day. Note that she only went to my dad's office and made an extra Php1400 (less diesel and toll of course). If there is an opportunity, she occasionally drives for special trips to Laguna or Tagaytay on weekends as well. She charges around Php2500/day, excluding fuel and toll.

Oo nga pala, I agree that this is a bad time to start a taxi business.

bro suggestion lang, we used to have a fleet of taxis and jeep... hindi siya ganoon kaganda na business lalo na kung gusto mo ipamana sa mga anak mo dahil it doesnt keep up with the times... lalo na ngayon na sobrang mahal ng gas and dont expect the prices to stay that way. kung gusto mo malaman ang real roi, peg the gas price to P41... para may safety basket ka...

I suggest a second hand car. expect more repairs as compared to a brand new one but the cost of repairs in the long run is much cheaper than the price difference of a brand new unit. i am currently operating a taxi here in baguio. the ROI is quite long (4 years) since the boundary for 14 hours is only P500.00 (brother ko kasi driver) and that taxi franchise here is expensive (around 160,000). I expect though that the unit be still in good condition after ten years. kita ko kasi kong paano alagaan ng brother ko. taxi business is good only if you have a trusted driver. better yet, mga close relative mo. kung wala kang kakilalang matinong driver, consider mo na lang yong other suggestion to engage in other transport business.

Just got back from two (2) Toyota branches.

Apparently, bawal na daw pala gawing taxi yung Vios! They're trying to be 'prestigious' like Honda. Available na daw by March.

Uy, okay ang Avanza, small engine, big body...

But like yebo and others are saying, mas effective ang van rental.
