I'm here again seeking for advice and options
I finally convinced my wife to sell our 3 year old VVTi(Gas) Innova V...
We are planning in getting another 7-seater vehicle preferably a diesel SUV.
Our budget is around 1.4M to 1.5M(max)

    Our top priority are...
    1. Riding Comfort - smooth ride(not bumpy or matagtag) and spacious
    2. Fuel Efficient (eto yung convincing point ko so I better prove it)
    3. Reliable and affordable maintenance cost

Based from my research eto ang swak sa budget but I'm not sure about our No. 1 and 2 concerns...
    1. Mitsubishi Montero 4x2 AT GLS-V (VGT)
    2. Chevy Trailblazer 4x2 AT LT
    3. Ford Everest 4x2 AT
    4. Izusu Alterra 4x2 AT

Hope you could share your thoughts and experiences...
    Many many thanks!!!

Skip 3 and 4. Too old and about to be replaced with new models. Trailblazer is a good choice for now.

This is a toss between 1 and 2. I'd pick 1 based on your priority.

I like 1 and 2. The concern with Trailblazer is long term reliability (new so not yet proven long term) and availability of spare parts (this improves as volume builds up).

You can also add Fortuner into the mix, the old issue on tagtag has already been addressed in current model. However, in two years or so, there will be a new model coming out. But this can also be said for Montero.

I suggest you test drive so you get a feel of what you like best among them. Get one by yearend and you can probably haggle max discounts due to dealer quota targets for yearend.

Good luck and tell us what you choose in the end.

Thanks so much guys for the quick replies and suggestions
We will make the Montero our top priority and will sched a test drive after Christmas
Actually we also considered the Fortuner 4x2 G AT but the interior is almost the same as our current Innova V, sabi namin ni wife skip muna para maiba naman, hehe
What can you say about the new Kia Carens EX?
Parang over priced kasi cya with the 1.495M price...

    Thanks again!!!
    Ang Merry Christmas!!!

Re. Carens, id agree that the price is really a deal breaker. As for the Monty, I still prefer the fit and finish of the Fort. Id suggest you take a close look at the Fort as well.

    How about the Kia Sorento?

Parang kailan lang nung naka-plastic pa yung captain seats ni Nognov.

    BTT:
Same sentiments with regards to Fort (we didn't include Hilux in our pick up purchase this coming 1QT) due to same interior design with Innova. Monty will be my top choice among your list since less than kilometer away lang ang mitsu casa from your home. It will be very convenient for you during PMS.

Actually me and my wife like the Sorento and Sta. Fe but the CRDi variants are already out of our budget...
Hmmm... Ok we will look into the the 4x2 Fortuner V this weekend...

Trailblazer has the edge in terms of overall car specs (power, space, traction features, etc).

Montero has the edge as far as proven reliability and spare parts availability.

To TS, test drive both (and other possible SUV options) and try to get the best possible deal for both. Then decide.

Trailblazer will be my 2nd choice also. Agree on yebo and ano727 with regards to space of TB vs Monty. Pero i guess hindi mo namam yata priority bro ang space specifically sa 3rd row.

If you're really keen on the TB bro Luis, just PM me lang so i can refer you to my friend.

Louie like *ano said if you want size, updated look and third row, the Trailblazer is within your budget. I actually considered it given the new release this month and at P1.488m for the 4x2 A/T, but it's too big for my need so I'm short listing the Sorento (5 seater for me). While I love the Montero, which is the logical choice if ease of parts / after sales is that important to you, cause Mitsubishi has an established big vehicle line up here.

If those are your choices, and I consider your practicality, Louie, I'd go for the Montero. But I love the TB's look.
