Hello po! Newbie here. Pa-advice naman po. I am planning to buy a second hand car. A friend of mine offers his car, honda civic 1.6 vti 1996 model for 230k. Ok lang po ba yung presyo? Medyo namamahalan po kasi ako.

These are some details/specs of the car:
    Manual transmission
    With ac and stereo cd
    90% tires
    With mags
    With coilover and spring
    With muffler
    1.6 cc
    With keyless entry and alarm
    All power
10km/Liter long drive and 8km/liter city driving.

This would be my first car and magpapaturo palang po ako magdrive.
Kaya i really dont know anything about cars po.

Salamat po in advance sa mga advice.

Mahal.

Pricey for an old Civic EK. Agree ako kay SiRbossR, baka 2000-2002 Accord VTi/VTi-L pa makuha mo sa price na yan or 2001-2003 Civic ES. Puwede rin 2001-2003 ZZ Altis. If you want a younger car, baka puwede na yang 230k for a 2003-2005 Sentra GS or GSX.

Pero im trying to consider din po a nissan sentra 2006, 280k ung price, all powered and A/T, 66k mileage. Ok na po ung ganyang price for sentra?

    Salamat po ulit.

True na mataas yung resale value ng Honda cars locally but he is asking too much for a 17-year-old car. You can get a younger Honda car for his asking price, a 6th gen Accord (1998-2002) or maybe a 7th gen Civic (2001-2005).

Nissan Sentra GS ba yung 280k? or the 180GT model? That's a good price its age and mileage, or maybe try to ask for a lower price to sweeten the deal better. If its the GX model (1.3L AT), it's not worth it.

He's out of town po kasi ngayon, hindi raw nya matandaan yung actual mileage nung sasakyan nya.

Nwei, sagad na raw po yung price at nung sinabi ko na mahal yung price niya sabi ng karamihan ( i didnt mention this forum), ayaw po niya maniwala. Hehe

With regards to the Sentra 1.3L GX, halos limited sa features yung model na ito compared sa top of the line GS model tapos same lang din fuel consumption ng two models. Try mo hanap ng GS model at mas sulit ito (auto climate control aircon, 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, air bags, etc.).

I sold my 1996 model Civic Vti in 2005 for 240k. Mileage was 43,000.

Mukhang ganun nga po kasi RFS niya: wala gumagamit sa auto dahil madalas out of town siya. 😃

i could not agree more. ang down side lang ng sentra is that you need to check the wheel alignment every now and then otherwise kakainin gulong mo. the good thing is that for the rear wheel solid ang suspension at walang align align - unlike EK. i have ek and sentra FE by the way.

Mahal yung Civic TS. I just browsed ayosdito, at 250k makakakuha ka na ng 2001 civic.

Mas ok talaga ang sentra. Take advantage ka sa low resale value nya.

Common front alignment issues ng N16 chassis is brought about by the wearing out of the bushings in the front suspension arm. A checkup every 6 months will be good to know how the bushings hold out. Dati akala ko alignment lang kelangan with the uneven tire wear but found out it's the bushings that's the culprit. It's an easy fix for suspension shops like Cruven or Zee. Mabigat kasi kaha ng N16 but plus side nito is that it is very stable and comfortable, especially sa mga long drive.

I just confirmed na nissan GX AT daw po yung car. If i could have it at 250k baka po kunin ko narin. i'd be checking the unit po pala today.

Every now and then check. Nagpamahal sa akin sinabay ko shocks last year. So far so good ang sentra ko na bagong palit bushings.
