pero kung nabili na, you have to get the original CR from the LTO office where it was originally registered (nung bago pa yung oto).

September 29th, 2007 11:15 PM #174Happy_Gilmore, you've been so helpful with all those info and tips. I read through the whole thread however, I'm still a bit unclear about my case.
I'm about to get a used car. I will be the 3rd owner. The CR and OR are both under the name of the 2nd owner, so no problem there (I saw the originals). However, both the CR and OR are registered in Dipolog City. I am based in QC/Manila area. Obviously, going to Dipolog is not an option for me.
To change the ownership, given that the TMG clearance is done, it seems the entire thread proposes 2 options:
1. Go to LTO-Main at East Ave to process the change of ownership
2. Go to my nearest LTO, have them get the "Confirmation Letter" from LTO-Dipolog, wait 2 weeks to 1 month, then return to my nearest LTO again to have it processed?
Will option 1 be a one-stop-shop? meaning, I'll get everthing done in 1 day?
For option 2, does that mean I have to get TMG clearance twice? since it's valid for only 7 days but the "confirmation letter" takes a month
Again, thanks so much.

actually, option 2 should be working for you, unless you fork out extra moolah for option 1, which i really discourage.
the reason is that your nearest LTO needs a confirmation from LTO Dipolog that you bought the car, and you are transferring it to a Manila-based LTO.
the TMG clearance would only be needed once. just have it submitted to the LTO office nearest you, and they will be sending it out together with your confirmation letter request to LTO Dipolog.
hth.

uhm question lang guys na medyo related sa topic na to. bale may cr ako pero its not the original copy, xerox copy lang, and eto na ang dinadala ko sa vehicle kasama na ng or (orig) at iba pa papeles na nasa rehistro, (insurance, emission) ung nasa plastic.... everything is original except ung cr ko na xerox copy lang, its clear pero xerox nga lang talaga, pwede ba ito?? kasi diba minsan may mga nanghuhuli sasabihin "sir pakita lisensya at rehistro" syempre ang makikita nyan ung xerox ng cr, pwede kaya yun or kelangan ko kumuha ng orig copy?? nawawala kasi ung orig copy ng cr ko eh, kasi erpats ko pa gumamit ng sasakyan bago mapasa akin ung sasakyan, and at his time, kalat kalat ang documents nya, so aun nawawala ang cr... pero buti ,may xerox, ok lang kaya yun as parang substitute or kelangan talaga orig?? if ever kelangan orig, anu anu ba kelangan at anu kaya procedure nito?? thanks!!

since the owner of the car is still your pop and i am assuming that it is still under his name, just request for an original copy of the CR from LTO where it was originally registered. gawa ka lang affidavit of loss and attach mo yung xeroxed copy nung CR mo.
minsan talaga pag huli, original OR/CR ang kailangang ipakita eh.

so what i do now is to bring it and place it dun sa trunk organizer ko sa oto. mahirap na na wala in case you need it.
