    sa mga choice mo sir,

if you have a roofed garage, i will definitely go for the esi 95, mas prone daw sa "bulutong" ang roof ng esi kesa dun sa iba mo choices, pag lagi bilad at na-ulan.

A/T pala balak nyo, i dunno, lets see some other tsikoteers about this matter, maselan ata ang A/T, second hand unit pa.

sir, ayaw mo ng corolla? haha. corolla user here. )

kung ako sir, manual transmission nalang ako.

esi nalang sir, kung porma habol mo, may it be a 93 or 94 esi na pormado o kahit stock pa yan,
basta well maintained and super malinis,
mas mapapansin ka pa kesa sa 97 lancer/sentra.

nung pumipili din kasi ako auto, ang choice ko is..

    corolla bigbody (durability and reliability)
    honda esi (speed and style)
nissan sentra (well known for its airconditioning system)

ayaw ko lancer, madami na ako kilala n winarn ako na kalampagin.

    pinili ko bigbody.

    but still, your call.

Diba yung ESi wala pang VTEC?

*TS: Kung ako sayo, Nissan Sentra Super Touring nalang. Halos walang pinagkaiba sa pricing (kung meron konti lang) as compared to the Super Saloon, and it has ABS and driver's airbag at napakaporma neto as compared to the Super Saloon (has different bumpers and wheels). Siguro mga 1997 to 1998 models makukuha mo. Kung yung Civic na tinitingnan mo ay yung 1996 and above EK na may VTEC syempre iba na ang usapan...

The ESi is very old... Imagine kukuha ka ng '93-'95 car as compared to a '96-'98 Sentra for pretty much the same price. Though the ESi has the famed double wishbone suspension fore and aft, the engine is no better than the others as it still has no VTEC and the car is well known for its rust issues. Being a Honda, maintenance is definitely somewhat higher than the rest, though by this age I'm not so sure as to how much higher it still is.

Oo. though the Super Touring has driver's airbag and, I think, ABS. Yes, they have the same engine and halos magkamukha nga sila. But if you have the opportunity to get the sportier looking version, why not?

I'd get a stock Super Touring Sentra and then retrofit the headlights with the post facelift multireflector ones. This would at least make it look more up to date and the Super Touring look makes it look a lot sportier as compared to the Super Saloon variant.

Madali lang yan. Madami diyang nagbebenta sa Banawe. Since original Nissan part naman yan, its not hard to find. And its not expensive... Whole headlight assemblies normally cost just a few thousand per set. Yung Super Touring pareho lang naman sa ibang 1.6L na B14 Sentra in terms of fuel consumption since yung pinagkaiba lang ay yung exterior. Pero matipid naman yang B14 Sentra as long as it is in good condition, even more so if you drive with a light foot.

Now I would shy away from the ESi since luma na yan. Last batch came out nung 1995 pa. And now the parts supply would start to dwindle...

Although I have not experienced it firsthand madami nagsasabi na kalampagin ang suspension ng pizza Lancer. But I know for a fact na yung itlog Lancer OK. My uncle had one for 16 years (1994-2010). He lives in Baguio, runs a small organic farm there and goes back and forth Manila-Baguio often. When he sold it, it had over 200,000kms on the clock but you can hear no single protest from the suspension and the engine is still well capable of sustaining speeds of 160km/h and above in the expressway.

Siguro if you can find a '96 Lancer GLXi OK din. Pero siguradong makakakuha ka ng mas bagong Sentra for your money. Nasa sayo na yan on which one you will prefer. Both are good cars which will serve you well given that they are in good condition.
