Model 2003 and up. At least 1.8. This will be used as a coding car.
Current Choices:
Civic ES - looks do not appeal to me but I've been told that it is a reliable car
ZZ Altis - worried about the sludge issue
Camry - seen several on the 350k range but I am willing to stretch the budget if it is a good buy.
Any other suggestions?

April 22nd, 2011 01:32 AM #3if fuel economy is not a issue, then the camry is definitely a steal. dahil sa mababang resale value ng luxury sedans ok na ok talaga sila pag 2nd hand ang bibilin, ayos pa sa features
kunin mo nalang sa 2.0 ang engine, para di masyado malakas sa gas

coing car eh, much lower/better maintenace yung altis IMO vs. the camry.
As long as you follow the PMS sched of the ZZ altis and use semi-syn engine oil, no worries ka sir IMO.Last edited by Ry_Tower; April 22nd, 2011 at 02:10 AM.

It's hard to determine if the previous owner followed the PMS kaya medyo alanganin din ako sa Altis. Is there a quick way to determine na sludge free pa engine?
Ano masasabi niyo dito:

What is a reasonable amount to bargain? This will be my first time to purchase a second hand vehicle if ever. May kilala kasi ako he sold his car na less than 40k from his asking. If I drive a good bargain baka maka slash pa ko ng 50k or more???

April 22nd, 2011 09:30 AM #7Hi, if it is only a second car then choose a car that has good intrinsic value and less in resale department. In my opinion the best will be a sentra.....your budget can get a sariwa sentra of 2007 model. If you are driving an automatic tranny then get a manual tranny so you will experience both. Just a piece of advice based on my experiences. Good luck.

April 22nd, 2011 10:47 AM #8If i have 350k, i would go for Vios 1st gen 2004-2007. Since it is a 2nd hand car, best p rin sa parts ang toyota.. Inevitable na may masisira talagang parts sa 2nd hand car, since it is running for more than 4years or more

I've actually owned MT cars all my life. I first had the chance to drive my friend's AT car in the 90s and I didn't enjoy it so much. Then last year I got to test drive several AT cars and it was so much better. Kaya ngayon I am willing to try AT na
