Hi guys! We're in a tight budget. It will be used primarily by my dad as a pang-"harabas" car and it should be a M/T. Buying a brand new is not an option.

Here's the scenario: We are living here in the south and he works in QC (main office). Kapag may projects siya, from Laguna to Norzagaray, Bulacan yung magiging route niya. Pagdating niya sa office, he will be using the company issued Isuzu D-Max 4x4 for serious off-roading papunta sa helipad nila.

We are considering the Nissan Frontier Titanium 3 because:
-maraming siyang abubot pag pumupunta siya sa site (e.g. safety gear, etc.),
-it's a diesel
-it is the 'cheapest' pick-up from that era (it should be 2004 model and above)
-literally, pwede talaga siyang ipang-harabas
-easy to maintain compared to a similar vintage Ford Ranger(?)

on the other hand, we are considering the Rav4 due to:
-comfort, my dad is already in his early 50s
-more fuel efficient compared to 2nd generation Honda CR-V M/T
-it's a Toyota daw- well, he's a Toyota fanboy (we currently have a 2012 Innova 2.5G M/T and a 2008 Vios E M/T)

I just want to know if a Rav4 can handle mild off-roading without giving us a headache in the long run. Also, does the driving "comfort" of the Frontier is tolerable for his age? Kaya we decided to consider the Rav4. Initially kasi, pick-up ang priority niya dahil sa cargo carrying capacity. pero lately, he realized na he is already ageing. in addition, kapag may projects siya he will be leaving the car in their Bulacan office for almost 5 days kaya naisip din namin na tolerable naman siguro ang FC ng Rav4 M/T kung almost once a week lang gagamitin. kung mag-uuwian siya araw-araw (Laguna-QC-Laguna), he will be using the Innova or my Vios. Lastly, gusto niya yung presentable gamitin kahit papaano kapag may biglaang meeting sa mga 5-star hotel or restaurant with the contractors.

In short, he wants the driving comfort of my Vios with the ruggedness and cargo carrying capacity of our Innova.
