Spoke to my dad again after texting him the prices for him to choose from.

    1. Monty - as long as he gets it below 1.2M (he also considers Fortuner specially with a new model coming out baka lang daw mag price drop)

    2. Sportivo

    3. Innova

We did factor in getting the shell/cover if he likes a pick up which would likely put the strada's price same as a monty.

Im not sure how much of a discount the Sportivo offers. From its 1,195,000 w/o monitor pa.

GTi you are right about Innova's chassis.

I think though my dad really likes an SUV just not sure if my sisters who will help him out with the purchase will agree. My contribution is more on the research side. Hahaha.

Skip the Sportivo, it's getting too old and overpriced.

Now consider that the Sportivo sells for 1.2M+ while the base MU-X only goes for 1.188M.

It is old, slow, smoky and definitely does not live up to its name. It's definitely great for hauling, and is cheap and easy to maintain. A/T means gas mileage, one of it's key plus points, isn't that good.

The new MU-X is definitely worth considering though.

I was looking at the MuX unfortunately wala silang standard AT model to match the price sana of the Monty GLX. (Which i think is a mistake)

Honestly though. I do not mind driving a manual in long out of town trips with mostly highway driving. I mostly stick to 4th and 5th in provincial main roads and just 5th for almost the entire stretch of the expressway. It is actually quite enjoyable to drive a manual in the highway. It's in city driving that the merits of an automatic transmission are fully appreciated.

Wanna have a look at the China brands? The Foton thunder pickup is within that price range. Also the JMC Orion although that one is a manual 5 speed with a Ford motor. Greatwall also has a Haval SUV.
