Hi tsikoters good morning, i plan to buy my 1st ever car. But i am so confused on what to buy. I prefer mini cars :3 any suggestion? I take into consideration of the ff:

    - comfort
    - fuel consumption
    - performance

    and what else?

    Help please :> THANK YOU!

    hi arin, good morning.

choosing a car is really difficult yet fun. i wish u goodluck on getting your first ever car.

how about price? is it part of the consideration?

i have a 2008 picanto a/t and a 2007 mazda 2. fuel consumption, picanto is the best. pero mazda 2 has a better ride. mas smooth.

tapos, u have the i10 also to choose kaya lang never had this and di pa rin ako nakasakay sa kanya.

i'm sure dami tutulong sa yo dito on what to choose.

    Arin.

    Budget ? Preferred transmission ?

Since it's your first ever car, I`d be advising you to get hatches. And those ranges from 300k+ ~ 800k+

The 300k+ is the Alto and the 800k+ is the Honda Jazz. Everything else, falls in between.

For your first car, I think the Honda Jazz will be the best for you. Small yet fun to drive. Downside though is it's hefty price.

Next would be the Mazda 2 HATCH., it's cute ... really. FC is adequate, comfort yes ... but maintenance cost is still a big " ? "

Next in line would be the Toyota Yaris. 1.5L car. Comfort is also a given, yes. Parts are cheaper, since it's a toyota. :hysterical:

Then it goes on and on. But it will be then again depending on your preferences. All are good cars, really. IMO ... do a test drive of all of this ( if possible ) or visit the dealers to see the actual unit itself up close.

It's going to be your first car, so I presume you wouldn't want to regret your decision soon.

    Goodluck. ;)

Yes it is very difficult for me and for everyone else i guess. Even if i have read a lot in this forum with regards different cars. "hay parang lahat gusto, lahat pwede" :3 feeling dami pambili. Anyways, thank you for your suggestion, now i am choosing between the three (like what renzo_d10 and ghosthunter suggest):

    - Honda Jazz
    - i10 (i also have in mind the i20) pero wala pa ata dito sa pinas? tama ba?
    - and or getz

    still on continous reading forum...

wish me luck tsikoters... and THANK YOU for the replies.

    any suggestions/recommendations are highly appreciated

If budget is no problem, a Cooper is the best. But for a more pedestrian taste, Jazz is my choice.

You can also inquire when will Suzuki bring the SX4 hatch. Its bigger than the Swift.

BTW, some consider the Swift as a pauper's version of a Cooper. So its up to you then.

yaris since one of your conditions is fuel consumption and it's got better comfort feel than the jazz. . .but imo, any of the two will do

isa-suggest ko sana ang mazda 2 since it's a new model, but mazdas aren't known for fuel economy (but we don't know about this one). . .forget about the picanto if you're looking for comfort

do not ask for performance for the choices that you have. . .performance results will just be comparatively ok with the rest of the options, but not necessary satisfactory. . .if you're serious about performance, look to one of the models in the sub-compact level--civic, lancer, corrola, focus, etc

    good luck!

I'd add the Accent or Getz CRDi if OP wants some speed. And they're diesel, so fuel cost will be lower; but offset by maintenance cost.

Di daw mailabas ng HARI ang i20 kasi masyado din mahal.

Yung Mini Cooper naman. Never naging tipid sa gas yun. 1.6L pero nakaka 7km/L lang sa city. BMW eh

The SX4 is already here. Saw one yesterday at gateway mall. Comes with horrid plastics, tiny sounding doors, very firm seats, not so many toys...not that very outstanding. The Yaris, 2 and Jazz are more sensible choices. If you could wait, the Ford Fiesta is also coming and it is one good mini.

By third quarter lalabas na ang Ford Fiesta. Wait for it na lang bro. Plasticky ang Mazda 2, Suzuki SX4 (if only it was AWD - okay na okay na sana). I don't like the look of the new Honda Jazz, okay yung pre-facelifted version (pero CVT na problematic naman).

When it comes to sensible small cars, the best out there is the Honda Jazz. Nothing beats it when it comes to fuel consumption, space, and practicality.

Sure, its probably the most expensive of the bunch you chosen but it is really worth the price. If you want something frugal, then choose the 1.3L version.

Being a former Jazz owner, I consider it one of the best cars I drove.

e di ba may manual tranny yung mazda2? di ko lang alam ang FC ng M/t version.

suzuki swift, Toyota yaris, Honda Jazz will do.
or even cheap chinese branded cars, if you will consider them, pero questionable ang PMS nila.

Whew it's getting harder and harder *_* (maybe its because im a 1st timer)

Still reading forums about the ff:
    - Honda Jazz
    - Mazda 2 (Hatch/Sedan) just saw yesterday ang cute :3
    - Hyundai (Getz/i10) when it comes to price
    - Im giving it a try for Toyota Yaris and Suzuki Swift

Much better to do is to visit the car dealers to see the actual unit like what renzo_d10 suggest.

THANK YOU SO MUCH tsikoters. Feel free to express your ideas

Last year nakabili ako nyan for just P643,000 after all the discounts (I think it was P70,000 all together)... Yan ang pinaka murang 1.5L car na makukuha mo (at that time mas mura pa sa 1.3E Vios) na hindi Chinese... Yung Jazz ang pinakamaganda pero ang mahal! Na turn off ako sa price kaya Yaris nakuha ko since bumili lang naman ako ng subcompact para sa short trips ko dito sa QC office namin about 7km from my house, I didn't have any need for the Jazz's cargo ability dahil may Santa Fe naman ako or I can borrow my dad's Landcruiser if the SF is not enough... Yung MZ2 no comment, never driven one nor inspected one.

Ito pampagulo, kung kaya mo hintay October hintayin mo na lang yung Ford Fiesta. Let's see what that car has to offer then we can decide clearly!

All cars you mentioned are quality cars. One factor you should consider will depend on what kind of car owner you are?! Kung pang matagalan talaga then it's ok to buy cars which has a low resale value.

If you are the type who will sell the car after 5 yrs then you want want to consider cars which has the resale value sa market. Toyota and Honda has the best resale value in the market.

2010 ngayon if you sell your car sa 2015. Pag ang nabili mo mababa ang resale value lugi ka diba. But kung pang matagalan ang pag "ownership" mo ng first car mo then it's ok to buy the lower resale value kasi nasulit mo naman ang pero mo.

Others just consider buying another car when they can afford it na para di malugi sa pag benta ng 1st car nila.

    Good luck in your decision!

Planning on buying my 1st "ever" tsikot
