Eyeing to buy an automatic second hand car this week for my wife ...I have several models in the market that Im intersted in..please help me decide by letting me know about your opinions regarding the following models..

    Stuff I'm looking for:
    Budget: Php200,000
    Transamission: Automatic
    Gas Displacement: 1.5 or 1.6
Aircon: I need a strong Aircon
Airbag: Much better if the unit has SRS Airbag
    Year: at least 1997
    All Power
    Nothing to fix
    First Owned
    Orig Paint

1998 Honda City - I like it because price is not that high and ofcourse its from Honda.

1998 Nissan Sentra Series4 SuperSaloon - Looks good too 1999 models are very affordable I just wonder why this is so? Is there something awful about this car?

1997 Honda Civic ESI - The look is classy a bit pricey not sure. Am looking for a 1.6 engine for this model

Mitsubishi Lancer 1997 and up - Pricey but nice...plus nice to set up... from what Ive seen around..

1998 Mazda 323 Familia - I've seen some Familia being sold at around Php150,000. I don't know how come this car is cheap.

    What do you guys think...

My wife is already expecting me to deliver her CAR next week... I hope anyone here can help me to decide. Di naman kasi ako marunong pagdating sa mga kotse. Thanks po.

I'm surprised that there are no toyotas on the list. Since you need a strong aircon, I would personally recommend the Nissan. But take note buying 2nd hand care doesn't stop there. You have to consider how it was maintained, odometer reading, engine condition at all those other stuff. Bring a trusted mechanic along when you look at a unit. If casa maintained, request to see the record of the car.

The Nissan and Mazda are not bad cars. Their resale values suffer because of the [non-car enthusiasts] public perception about them. If you know your cars, you'll know that stuff from Mazda and Nissan are very competitive with products from other manufacturers.

The low resale will be in your favor since you are the buyer.

Just don't max out your budget on the car, as you may need between 5,000 to 30,000 pesos in contingency money for unexpected repairs.

Mahirap bumili kung may deadline. Try not to rush, and make sure that the unit you buy (whatever it is) is physically fit.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Based on your needs, I would have chosen a 97-up Corolla GLi A/T.

But if I were to choose only from your options, I would get the 96/97 Civic Lxi A/T. (but your Civic pic shows a 93-95 series Civic Esi/Lx?)

I would normally stay away from the Lancer and the matic Familia.

Good luck in your final pick.

Nothing awful with Nissans. As some have already pointed out, Nissans and Mazdas are cheap because Hondas and Toyotas are overrated.

thanks sir for the advice. am anticipating thoses scenarios considering that it's a 2nd hand car anytime me lalabas na problema diyan.

I like toyota corolla it's just that di ko ma-appreciate resale value nila. Cost is too much high for a 1997 corolla. Kahit yun mga 94-96 model sobrang taas.

OIC, which means it's okay to get a 2nd hand nissan sentra. One of my officemate owns a Nissan Sentra Series 4, ang lagi niya sabi sa akin is "Pre, wag ka na kumuha ng nissan. Sentra owner na ako, di ko gusto performance niya." .... that's why am curios kung bakit ganun na lang feedback ng mga tao sa akin when am thinking of getting nissan sentra.

Anyway, thanks po sa lahat nang nagbigay ng feedback.

1989 nissan maxima owner ako, and i admit, MAHAL ANG PARTS! pero eto masasabi ko, MATAGAL MASIRA than others! nissan, kalimitan, "over-engineered" sila....CA20 ng maxima ko still sounds as day 1..may suki na akong bilihan sa banawe,e..

eto recomend ko > sentra series 3-3.5(super saloon, super touring, GTS), get the manual tranny if available.here's some:

mazda is good also, kia pride namin is actually a mazda na. at parts ay swapable sa mazda. cheap parts ng mazda at easy to find kung alam mo na-->may suki na din ako sa banawe kaya no worries na din.

recommended ko din mazda 323 gen2, pero MANUAL! known gas-lalak ang matic,e...here's some:

lancer...pwede na din..why not toyota corolla not yung "love-life" body, but the early "big-body" or di kaya..

1999-2000suzuki esteem(kung wagon, pag sedan chevy cassia)?

    eto others pa:
