I'm totally newbie bout buying cars(since I've been parasite to my mom este palamunin dahil g-graduate p lang ako tom ) Need your patience on this one.
I'm planning to ask my mom to buy me honda '06 as my grad gift...I tried before (2 years ago) and she demanded me to do everything (from selling my old car to buying a new car) or at least know everything i need to do in buying a car (parang gusto nya bayad n lang sya and para matuto daw ako).So tinamad ako and sakto nawalan ako ng gana because I'm planning to work sa US. Anyway, (1)pano ba pag financing? Ang alam ko kasi magaapply ka sa bank for a loan..or sa dealer ka rin maglo-loan?Which is better? For those who recently bought a bnew car, kano ba Comp Insurance? (3) Is this true, honda cars are expensive to maintain?

in case of financing, ideally mas ok kung sa banko ka mismo mag aapply rather than sa kasa... anyways, il give you a reference, last time we apply for a 1-year financing, ang nakuha naming rate is 5%, but later i heard may ibang bank na nag ooffer ng around 4.9%, so if more or less you can get interest rate approximately near those i mentioned, siguro pwede mo na kagatin.

when it comes to maintenance, mga new honda cars kasi ang program nila is once every 10,000 kms, ang medyo madugo dito is they usually recommend the synthetic oil which is quite expensive din, so ang one-time down mo ng money is big also.

well, if you really prefer a honda, na at the same time fuel efficient, jazz ka na lang siguro.

like your job experience, just let your mom buy the civic and experience it. honda naman yan. and then the learning follows. i doubt kung ma-aaprove ka sa financing on your own kasi sabi mo nga wala ka pa employment experiecne.

no,its not going to be me who'll be applying for the loan, of course its my mom..kaya ko lang kailangan malaman to is because ayaw niya na sya pa magaasikaso, dapat daw matuto na ako. Kumbaga, dagdag lang sa ginagwa nya, she's very busy kasi.

    4. FC sabi nila it can act like a 1.5 and 1.8 will take over when needed... But its still a 1.8L engine. Kung ung 1.6 about 9km/l so mas mababa ito bka 7 to 8 nga. consider mo din ung dadaanan mo kung matrapik ba o hindi.

Maybe this year, maybe next year.

^ yun bang 31k+ is the insurance fee every year?

Jazz is nice too, but i think if i drive the jazz and meet a civic 06 along the road, magsisisi lang ako. Plus, if i do not buy now and wait for the facelifted jazz, malabo nang bibilihan ako ng mom ko..baka pera ko na gamitin!heh sayang!

    OT:
Good news, ok sa kanya (wag lang malaman ni ate ang balak namin habang nilalakad ko to dahil kokontra nanaman yun!)..pero as expected, sabi nya dapat daw ako na ang umalam ng lahat ng gagawin and relay ko n lang sa kanya because its about time na daw to learn something sa "professional life". hehe, ok lang, kaso i don't know where to start! basta tom i'll call our bank..wag lang sana ako pagtawanan..next is call the nearest honda branch..after that, i have no idea..o may kulang pa?

mas maganda FC ng Civic kaysa M3. tsaka from what I heard mas maganda humatak Civic.

OT: heh so dapat under radar ka pala para di malaman ni sis... tip... gawa ka ng kasulatan tapos papirmahin mo nanay mo tapos pa notaryo mo hehe.

    1. Financing - Go for bank loan. Avoid in-house financing of car dealer, unless its 0% interest. BPI's website shows the prevailing loan rates for your reference. I suggest you compare between 2-3 banks (maybe your mom can help identify which banks).

    2. Insurance - The higher the price of the vehicle, the higher the value of the premium. You mentioned you were going for a Honda. I believe Honda Kalookan's in-house insurance (Malayan) is very competitive.

    3. Honda maintenance - Hondas are no more expensive to maintain as Toyotas.

    4. 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine - Honda claims its got the punch of a 2-liter and the thriftness of a 1.6-liter. That's their claim. At the end of the day, even if you drive around in a 1.3-liter i-DSI Jazz with a heavy foot, the engine's fuel efficient technology is usless.

    5. Civic wait list - I believe the wait list is for the 1.8 "S" variants (4-8 weeks, depending on which dealer). The base 1.8 "V" variant looks ok, as with the 2-liter variants.

I suggest you first settle the budget before going further. Then look at bank websites to see how their financing works out.

Nagpunta na ako sa honda manila branch, ang freebies lang daw nila is the floormats and seatcover. Sabi pa naman sa website "(1) Free 3 years LTO registration; (2) Free Honda Paint Protector Hydrophilic Coat to maintain the brand new look of your Honda; (3) Free seat cover, tint, floor mat; and other free items". Kasi daw bagong labas pa lang yung oto, kaya wala pa freebies masyado. Yung tint ad-on lang daw yun. I already called BPI, pero wala pa ako nakausap. 2400/month for every 100k loan in a 60 mos term, 2808.00/month for every 100k loan in a 48 mos term and 3481.00/mo for every 100k loan in a 36 mos term.

salesman can be pain. Dont trust them so much. pay directly at the cashier
Do your own research. Ask people who really owns the product and not believeing in some mtoring journalist who test the drive the car for a day
and was given with a weekend vacation by the car company.

Same offers pero binigay na lahat ng computations sakin pati chattel and insurance fee. Comprehensive Insurance is 26k lang.
Sadly, mukhang matatagalan pa pagbili ko. Its because yung cousin ko na naghanda for 2 years for his kidney transplant operation ay na-stroke a day before his kidney transplant! Dahil sa 2 years na pag ddialysis nya (twice a week) + tons of medications eh medyo naubos pera nila(3 days pa lang sya nakaconfine 100k+ na yuing bill)..so malamang kami tutulong. All of this happened because of the hospital's negligence!!! Biro nyo 2 years nagpapadialysis cousin ko and di nya pinabayaan yun, nung naka check-in na sa hospital, dun pa nadelay yung dialysis nya ng 10 hrs plus he can't undergo hemodialysis if high-blood sya, pero dahil di ata chineck ang blood pressure and tinuloy ang hemodialysis, ayun semi-coma na with 100+cc of blood inside the brain! Sorry, I know OT na to pero gusto ko lang ilabas ang galit ko and para magrequest na rin sa inyo...
Anyway, please pray for him...he was not prepared for this. We believe he thinks he already got a new kidney and just recovering. His name is Hernani Cheung, please include him in your prayers (not for a quick recovery, because he is hopeless, but for a happy death and forgiveness of his sins). Thankyou

    ps.
Sorry talaga mods, we just need more prayers..

OT: Mas madali 'laruin' and mga 2nd hand units. And you can sell them for the same [or even slightly higher] than the price you bought it with. SRP Php135k. May libre pang extra set of bumpers and minor body repairs courtesy of the doctor that owned the unit. So I asked the Benz expert [that would be my dad] if good buy na yung unit (kasi napansin ko minsan parang sliding yung a/t and may konting aayusin pa. Sabi niya sakin, 'just buy the car, if hindi nagustuhan benta niyo na lang ng Php150k then sell the free parts.' Too bad nagka-problema sa coop loan that time utol ni commander. As for the Benz, the doctor sold it for Php150k!

Just say how much yung downpayment mo and how many months you want to pay. For a Kia Picanto, the total initial cash out was around Php 125k yata. Then less than Php10k/month ang monthly for 4 years.

If you used the down money to purchase an older vehicle, hindi pa din naman aabot ng Php10k/month ang babayaran mo in repairs and maintenance, debt free ka pa!

Slow sellers and models at the end of their product cycles are usually the best deal (at least you still get a brand new unit). The Mazda MPV and Mazda Miata were such slow sellers back then, Columbian just bundled them together ala buy 1 take 1. hehehe.

Last week I was eyeing on 2nd hand cars, but I realized mas hindi masakit sa bulsa kapag bnew..maliit lang naman ilalabas na pera for dp and the monthly ammortization is very very affordable in the 48 and 60 months term. I tried BPI and Metrobank(online calculator), mas mataas rates nila compared to the in-house financing ng honda...

My cousin died 5 pm yesterday...The sad part is, we were still not yet given an explanation of what caused his ultra high blood pressure that caused the stroke and cost him his life considering after 2 years of long wait, he finally became 100% physically fit to undergo a kidney transplant.
