The Jazz is a great car. Excellent fuel efficiency, great utility especially for such a small car, similarly miraculous amount of space for both passengers and cargo, great Honda reliability and resale value, and finally, great engine performance that will not embarass you on the highway. Honestly, it is the car that I would choose if floods and bad roads were not a problem.

Unfortunately, it has been raining all week now and floods seem to spring up like weeds everywhere. I suppose it is up to you if you feel that the security of higher ground clearance and benefits of having a diesel engine and loads of extra cargo space are worth the tradeoff of good handling, ride comfort and engine performance.

I've been researching for days, balak ko sanang pataasan kahit papaano yung suspension at wheel/mag size. Would it somehow be effective for vertical clearance? Mas mababa ba talaga jazz kesa sa normal sedan??

Assuming that you got a low mileage unit with hardly anything to fix, that would be 150k of gas money left over. If you get a more fuel efficient, but more expensive vehicle, how long will it take for you to recoup your additional investment before you start actually saving money? I am not very good in number crunching as that is jut703's job. [emoji23] But from what I have learned from him, it often takes years.

Puro mga gas crossover lang ba yung mga low resale price?
I am interested in them due to the price and at the same time, the comfort they offer:
    - Aircon
    - legroom
    - and specially seats for a long trip to the province

And passengers would be 5 (2 of which is young kids). Budget is at 300k. We're willing to pay the cost for comfortable ride.

Back-reading, I see that the CUVs mentioned here are not good at stop-and-go city driving. I think I can minimize that by avoiding rush hour, and city driving on Sundays only.

    What are my best options?

My wallet agrees with the X-Trail at 300k and I see it provides comfortable ride.
Other recommendations given to me so far is to get a bnew Honda City. Kaso, alanganin sa gastos..

300k max ba? With konting tawad/dagdag, pwede din 3rd gen CRV. I have even seen aftermarket 3rd row seats made for it. Should mean excellent room in the back.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Kung financed kaya naman. May option ba na i-autoloan yan 3rd gen CRV?
Kung full cash kasi, very stretched na ako sa 300k. Pero kung installment, well-within budget naman.

Ano advantages niya over sa lower priced 2005 X-Trail?

Yes po. They will give me yung OR/CR but yung ibang requirements for transfer of ownership to follow daw. I think it's the HPG clearance, etc. Will that be ok? Can I have the OR/CR checked sa HPG kahit photos lang? I already texted LTO 2600 and clear naman po but some said this is not accurate.

If it bothers you and there are so many red flags, I say no go.

Let's assume it really is the brother's car. They are still a buy and sell and the only goal for them is to sell the car. After that, you'll be left on your own. Remember, I assume, you will pay full in cash. Wala ka na habol after. Kung meron man, pahirapan na and you'll be put on a difficult situation kasi hawak na nila pera mo.

For a relatively new car, di na nila maproduce pertinent documents? I smell something fishy here..

Is Manual and casa records really that important po ba? I would like to negotiate sana with them for my peace of mind na ipasok sa casa ang auto for general checkup just to know what are other hidden issues. If they will agree, I think I will be more at peace. Do you think it is a good consideration/move?

Don't buy from buy and sell people ... If they don't have the OR and CR, it means that they do NOT own the car ... Always best to buy direct from owner ... Be patient when buying used cars ... There's always another good deal ... Follow your instincts ... Once they get your money, you WILL have a hard time looking for these people ...

As long as may encumbered na word sa CR. I'll stay away from it due to above stated reason.

And yes, ikaw ang maglalakad nang transfer under your name sa HPG at LTO

No owner's manual and service record? ... Pass ... Service record is very important ... There are a lot of other cars with for sale ... Find one with complete records ... Don't rush ...
