If you're lucky, you can get a 2001 Honda Civic VTi for 250k.
But given your budget, mas maganda if you opt for the Honda City Type Z or Toyota Corolla GLi (lovelife)

May 15th, 2012 10:21 AM #5Normally, you'd get a newer Type-Z as compared to a Civic with the same budget. Obviously, the Type-Z is also more fuel efficient than the Civic. Maintenance and running costs would also be cheaper due to the smaller engine and simpler mechanicals. Other than that, the Civic has the advantage.
+1 on the Lynx. You can get much newer units of these as compared to the Civic. Just stay away from matic versions to save on fuel costs. Consider also the Nissan Sentra 1.6. Resale value is similar with the Lynx.

This is a bit subjective, but sobrang napapangitan ako sa pre-facelift (2001-2002 I think) ES Civic. Eto yung may pure red tail lamps. Between that and the Type Z, I'd get the Type Z.
But if it was an '03-'05 model, yun nalang.
Wag ka bibili Lynx RS, para bumaba demand and subsequently bumaba presyo, para makabili na ko. HAHA joke. I think it's a great car for roughly 250-300k if you want something that can both be practical on the weekdays and a raucous beast on the weekends. One of the rare 2.0-liter M/Ts too, along with the likes of the more expensive Civic FD 2.0S.

May 15th, 2012 12:30 PM #8Naku~ Matic pala! Take note that some matic compacts consume a lot more fuel than their manual counterparts. Kung ganon, good choices for you would be the Civic A/T, City A/T, Sentra A/T, and the gasoline Hyundai Matrix A/T.

^ No-no on the Sentra AT. Malakas sa gas, especially kung GX. And underpowered, too.
Kung sa City, Type Z AT dapat. You'd want to stay away from those problematic CVTs that came with the GD (2003-2007) City.
