if you wont be using the pick up bed sir then itll be of most waste. you should go for a mid size or subcompact suv. have you considered a suzuki grand vitara? its the new 2.4 l engine. very smooth ride specially on provincial roads. plus the best thing about it. is that it is a completely built unit from japan plus with a free 2 yrs preventive maintenance service.if you need a more personal help on any brand and model you may reach me at 09239798596.
First of all, welcome to tsikot brutus!
BTT: How many are you in the family?
Do you really need a big space?
If not, go for the Xtrail. Better styling, better ride comfort and its simply just cheaper than the fort.![]()
But if you want a car with a bigger space, go get the santa fe. Car-ride feeling and the style....
About the vitara, isn't it so expensive? 1.7m for the 4x4 with just 2 years warranty? I know it looks good but, think first.
If I were you, test drive all of it so that you wont be regretting at the end.
GOOD LUCK!
Fortuner's stiff suspension will make bounce your bones around. But if you modify it to give a softer ride, it is a good vehicle.
Hilux, I have driven this on short off-road course and it is a capable vehicle, I might have personal reservations against doing regular long drives in this on bad roads.
Nissan X-Trail 4x4 is the best choice given it's good on-road & off-road manners. It is also a competent light off-road vehicle.
Another good vehicle to look at is the Subaru Forester although parts might become a problem if you break something far from a Subaru dealership.
O e bat nag iisip ka pa? si kumander dapat masunod lol2. Other brand/SUV(Fort or Hilux- my wife choices)
Pero parang diskumpiyado ko sa Xrail ha. Ung sa tita ko 2 yrs and 30K km pa lang makalampag na e mostly paved road driving un. o baka naman wala lang kilalang potholes aunt ko lol
Fort/Hilux + rough road = instant diet for anyone in the back... make sure you pack barf bags.
The seven-seater/pick-ups with the smoothest rides are the Navara and the Strada/Montero twins... though whether you should buy either depends on how much you trust your local dealerships.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I've visited Mitsu's website and in fact there is a 4x4 version of the Montero Sport.
Here are the prices
- GLS A/T 4x2 - not sure of the price
- GLS A/T 4x4 - 1.5 million
- GLS SE A/T 4x4 - 1.680 million
*TS - dont you like mitsu fuzion or mitsu outie?![]()
si renzo naghahanap ng info hehehe
hmm hilux tsk3 matagtag masyado bumyahe kami pagudpod sakit sa katawan nasa back seat ako.. and di ka makakatulog.. try isuzu alterra it has 3.0 engine
Since the TS mentioned "provincial roads", I would recommend either of the Toyotas. Body on frame [hilux or fortuner] (as opposed to monocoque) [x-trail] will probably cope better for the rougher roads and ruts in the province. In fact, they should opt for the 4x4 variants if possible.
When it comes to diesel, I think the Mitsubishi Montero Sport is a better choice than the D-4D of the Toyotas. At least, Mitsubishi DiD doesn't have any choking, hard starting, black smoke issues that some Toyota D-4D (diesel) do have.
If its for city use, the X-trail will get by easily. But then again, there are other better choices when it comes to CUVs.
Ang luma na ng Xtrail and I wouldn't even consider it... May bagong Xtrail na pero the NMPI folks are so stubborn! For me I would say either Montero Sport or Ford Everest.
I don't know kasi what you mean by provincial roads? Dami na rin kasing province where roads are abound kasi may kickback si governor! Pag may asphalt naman a CUV should be ok since mas comfortable and more fun to drive pa rin than ladder frames... Sa CUV of course the bias me says Santa Fe kasi sya lang ang diesel na 7 seater, meron ding Captiva (also diesel pero mas mahina and 7 seater) pero who wants to buy a car from a zombie company? The gas alternatives are the Forester and Outlander. While good in city driving kapag provincial trips and long trips paktay ka talaga pag gas engine. Although di direct comparison, pero it gives you an idea. One of my friends tried testing out a Santa Fe and a Dodge Nitro and went to Pagudpod in Ilocos Norte. The Santa Fe spent only P3700++ in diesel while the Dodge Nitro spent a bit above P10,000![]()
