Hi mga kaTsikot,
Gusto ko sana bumili ng car for transportation and security na din. Mahal kasi ng taxi ko lagi pag uuwi. 250-300
May pambili naman ako, at balak kong bilhin is VIOS 2005 1.5 G AT. Ang tanong ko lang is magkano ba gastos buwan buwan para imaintain ang isang sasakyan pwera sa gasolina? TIA!

when buying second hand cars.... prepare at least 50K-70 for repairs..... spread out yan for a year.... kung nasa 7 years na ang na bile mo due for replacement na ang timing belt (100k kms.), ac compressor, bearings, shocks, suspension, tires, battery...

Relatively bago pa naman yan kaya ok na nga siguro yung 1000 to 1500 every month na ipon para sa eventual maintenance ng kotse. Sa gas naman ako nasa 5k ang gastos ko sa gas wala pa yung tollgate and parking.

aside from gas, ung average cost of PMS would range from Php2k-5k more or less which is every 6months or 10K odo reading.

nasa name mo na ba ang or/cr pag bigay ng keys sa iyo? if not then you will have expenses in transferring it to your name.
how many kilometers per day ba ang drive mo? minimum gastos mo will be change oil every 6 months/5000 km so kung more than 5000 km in 6 months then yun ang pagbasehan mo magkano gastos sa maintenance. assuming in good condition ang car ha. oil change, semi-synthetic plus oil filter nasa 3k lang yan, so P500/month.
for the first 6 months siguro medyo mapapagastos ka kasi there will be things you should do to really be able to trust your car. change the oil, oil filters and fuel filter na agad, don't trust the old owner even if he says he maintained the car up to the end (who would when he knows he will be selling it na?) you should have the brakes inspected (brake pads, disk, drums) and flush the brake system so you know you have clean brake fluid in there. flushing ng brakes will cost approximately P1-1.5k. then have the cooling system flushed, coolant lang naman yan saka konting labor, pwede na nga ikaw lang. check mo din ang battery, there should be a stamp on the battery when it was sold. kung 3 years na then you should budget for its replacement already. have an electrician check the charging system na din. papalitan mo na din mga fuses, mura lang mga yun. or at least have a set of replacement fuses in your car all the time just in case a fuse blows. and make sure you ask the electrician where those fuses are located.
normally for a 7 year old car di naman mahal i-maintain yan kung naalagaan ng dating may-ari. i had a 8 year old car before, oil change and filter change lang gastos ko. besides battery every 3 years ang ibang gastos ko e gulong na pinalitan ko after 6 years.

August 22nd, 2012 12:40 AM #10i had my diesel innova since 2005, brand new. i computed my costs, excluding gas, and it cost me about 3K a month.
this included expenses for oil change every 5K, 4 new tires, 3 batteries, annual registration fees and comprehensive insurance, and a new alternator.
if i remove the compre insurance, my monthly will be down to 1.3K..
my mileage is about 800-1000 km a week. my innova gives me 10-11 km/li. at today's prices, that's about 3.5K a month for fuel.Last edited by dr. d; August 22nd, 2012 at 12:45 AM.
