    Good day Tsikot!
I'm a newbie to the forum and would be buying my first car soon (2nd hand).

    Actually choices ko una ay

CRV (if makakahanap ng swak sa budget)
Grandis Chariot (Nag aalangan lang ako dahil mostly LHD converted)

Then nakakita ko sa ads ng Kia sportage na mura, model ranges from 95-98.

    Any feedback from Kia sportage?
or if hindi talaga kaya for CRV, good car ba yung 2nd hand Grandis Chariot?

    Thanks a lot.

Meron ding CRV na converted LHD. I suspect even the Kia Sportage.
Check mo papers at history nung car.

(meron ding Jazz/Fit, even Honda Civic, etc. na converted LHD.)

Di ko type yung Sportage, kahit nung bagong labas mukhang luma na. Magkano ang budget? I'd suggest you get a Vitara instead, with this one you, at least, get good off road capabilities, reliable engine and chassis as well as parts that are easy to source.

OldSchoolHack - thanks sa info... kailangan pala idouble check ko yung papers if i end up with CRV.

GTi - kaya din ng budget yung mga 00-01 na Vitara. Isa sa mga pinag pipilian ko before I saw sportage if pangit makuha ko feedback sa sportage isama ko uli vitara sa choices . Thanks

regarding itsura, I agree medyo mukhang luma, pero nakakita ko na may konting modification, ok na. so balak ko din ipaganun sana. Any first hand reviews? mahirap ba mag hanap ng parts? sirain ba?

Try looking for HRV, if you cant have a gen1 CRV. I believe its resale is lower. If you are considering the Grandis Chariot, might as well add the local release Mazda MPV. It has dual airbags, ABS, 2.5L Turbodiesel (same as gen1 Everest) 4 captains chairs, foglamps etc. for about 250k or less. You may also like to consider Nissan Terrano (local 2.7L diesel) but dont expect a rush in acceleration, a robust vehicle though. The Vitara is nice too. Skip the Sportage, not that it is very bad but there are better options. Happy hunting.

No. Korean cars in the 90's suck... And yes I own a Korean car bt I am smart to buy it in 2008, while others who have Korean stigma were quite stupid to buy one in the 90's and now allergic na sila...

The Vitara is good and robust. There's no terrain that it can't cross and its easy to drive as well. We had a 1.6 Escudo in Taiwan and I learned to drive in that one. It may not be very fast, but AFAIK it is capable of reaching 160km/h (max speed indicated in the speedometer), FC is not that good for a small engine (it had a 4 speed A/T BTW) at 8.5km/L and Taiwan's road conditions are much better than ours. And it has gone through hood-deep floods and got away unscathed. So what do you think?
