how much is your budget? you can't go wrong with a Isuzu DMax or a Nissan Frontier. search mo sa tsikot. meron na iyan.
regardless of the price ,
malaki ba difference nila sa performance ng new L200 against D-max & Frontier?
4x2 or 4x4?
kung 4x2
L200 kasi its the old NA 4D56 less than 80HP yun so compromised na ang cross country driving pero matipid...
frontier naman matagtag.....hilux or dmax gets my vote especially the dmax 3.0 eh
kung 4x4 naman
Dmax, Hilux, Strada cant go wrong with these 3
Dmax for power and tipid, Hilux for cabin space (pero questionable and D4D), strada naman no nonsense pickup...
new L200...the one displayed sa motorshow right?
2.5L CRDi making 145 HP.
if i where to pick one right now I heard that the new strada 4x4 have a very low price...2.5L turbo intercooled engine nga lang pero the price is way below the 1M mark (parang 800k plus lang)....
You can't race pick-ups and getting a 4x4 instead of a 4x2 is a plus.
If you have a very fast pick-up (say the 3.0 dmax) parang hindi naman bagay na walang airbag and abs (unless magaling kang magmaneho)....e nasa 4x4 series na lang etong amenities na ito.
Sa hilux naman...medyo "nakakatakot" yung risk of having a lemon engine nito yung D4D ba yung or what ever they call it....ang daming reklamo kasi dun...
Try nyo po yung Trekker. Matipid din sa Diesel, 2.5 intercooler turbo na at standard yung Dual Airbags and ABS.
Nice! :D Kung nasa ~800,000+ lang at 4x4 na, siguradong titiba Mitsu.if i where to pick one right now I heard that the new strada 4x4 have a very low price...2.5L turbo intercooled engine nga lang pero the price is way below the 1M mark (parang 800k plus lang)....
Sale yung Mitsu pick ups. They also have a no-nonsense Strada (Strada GLX nga ba yun?). Workhorse talaga, walang flares, vinyl trim, etc. But still has power features. It's one of the better riding pick ups around.
DMax and Hilux are much newer designs. Bigger cabins and cargo beds coupled with some of the most powerful engines in the market. Bigger prices, too.
The Nissan Frontier is a solid choice. Though it is a very old pick up already. The ride borders on punishing and the cabin is quite small especially the rear seats. Don't expect the TD27 engines of the 4x2 models to win you any races. It has about the same output as the non-turbo 4d56 of the L200.

with cargo beds, bigger pa din ang strada/l200 compared sa DMax and hilux.Originally Posted by OTEP

since construction equipment gagamitin, nagamit ko na strada once to carry boxes of 1x1 (foot) Mariwasa Tiles for a 72 sq m. floor area. can't remember kung ilan boxes na, around 4 years ago pa. pero yakang-yaka nya, I even drove from Mariwasa Pasig to Ortigas to Edsa to Cubao afternoon rush hour.
sir buknoy2002, lalabas na siguro ung L200/triton pretty soon...
pansin ko lang sa hilux and the upcoming L200 na double cab, medyo maliit ung truck beds nila. oddly enough, the smaller pickups(frontier, strada, ranger) na double cab seem to have longer truck beds -- at the expense of cramped second row seats .
imho cramped masyado ung second row ng frontier; ung sa ranger, maliit din, pero pwede na pagtiyagaan. dunno about the strada

Whats really dissapointing today are manufacturer's no longer install a bar at the bed of the pick up where you can tie up 15 foot ladders, steel pipes, plywood. I guess majority of pick up owners are not really into the real estate business or the like.
So papagawa ka pa and I suggest you get a rubber type bed liner para di magasgas yung bed if ever you'll get one.

naku ang pangit nun kapag mayroon bar. nowadays yun mga 4x2 pickups ang ginagamit pang cargo while yun mga elevated ones treated for personal use na lang to carry golf bags.
to be honest, para sakin wala na talaga kwenta mga cargo beds ng pickups ngaun. wala ka din naman maisakay na madami. you can't even buy a "21 or "29 inch TV from the malls without worrying na baka maulanan or baka mapitik habang nasa traffic. happened to me once nun wala pa ako bed cover, nanakaw yun set of plastic mouldings na puti pang-construction.
and with the newer models like the triton strada/hilux in WTC, pang-porma na lang mga pickups ngaun talaga. utility-wise, baka talo pa sya ng mga AUV's like Revo/Adventure/Crosswind na na-i-fold yun seats. that's why I loaned a 2nd L300 FB na lang for maximum cargo purposes, napapa-drive ko pa sa iba.
suggest ko sana sa inyo *iliad, if you plan on using sa business in the long run, try nyo yun Kia KC2700 4x4 na naka-display sa WTC. same price as 4x2 pickup pero mukang matibay talaga at ang dami pa mailalaman. ganda din ng dash interiors, car-like.
Iliad, unless you're going to Mountain Trail (Benguet) or drive through some unpaved roads that turn creek-like during the rainy season, I suggest you get a 4x2. But if you have 300-400k to spare, go ahead with the 4x4.
Now, with the 4x2's I used to have an L200 and I liked the ride. I think its only the L200 that has coil springs in front instead of torsion bars in other bars. I think the L200 4x4 is currently selling for the price of a Dmax or Hilux 4x2, just don't expect a lot of frills.
I just got a Dmax 4x2 LS and I'm very satisfied with it. Porma, power, speed are OK. Interiors are a bit wanting pero OK na rin. The only problem now is puro LX ang Dmax, walang ABS, airbag, R15 na ang gulong but its basically the same. Bias aside, Isuzu is still the best in diesel engines, tunog trak nga lang talaga.
Well in our case were not really after the facade, I prefer to have a bar installed because of our real estate business. Our L200 pick up has hauled 15-16 feet long ladders, steel pipes, frame sticks, ply wood countless of times already. It helped us a lotOriginally Posted by oldblue

Well it happened to me too. When we bought grocery stuff at makro sucat pagdating sa intersection na dampot ung soap for laundry. hehe
It really depends on what type of business your engaged into. If your in the food industry vans or auvs are better than pick ups. Imagine your bakery ingredients are baked under the sun or soaked by rain.and with the newer models like the triton strada/hilux in WTC, pang-porma na lang mga pickups ngaun talaga. utility-wise, baka talo pa sya ng mga AUV's like Revo/Adventure/Crosswind na na-i-fold yun seats. that's why I loaned a 2nd L300 FB na lang for maximum cargo purposes, napapa-drive ko pa sa iba.
But if your in the real estate business I sincerely doubt that you can fit a 15 foot ladder inside a revo or load 1000 kilos of cement bags or gravel.
ang tagtag ng hilux... though malakas yung makina.
the new mitsu strada is something to watch out for. it easily whips the hilux for quality, particularly inside the cab.
thanks for the replies, my bro is eyeing for the hilux 4x2, nagandahan sya sa shape ng body at interior space, yung entry-level nya costs 760T yata, the white one kaso hindi power windows/locks/mirrors, puro manual. dmax sana gusto nya kaso kulang talga budget nya. what do you think guys, is hilux a good buy, considering na konti pa lang nakikita ko na gumagamit nito, 3 pa lang nakita ko dito sa pampanga(dami frontier, 2 na nga bumunggo sa akin na frontier hehe).please give your inputs na rin about the D4D complains??
pardon me but the hilux 4x2 looks really awkward with those smallish wheels, rubber bumpers, metal rims, low ground clearance & a big body.Originally Posted by iliad
for a budget of around 700K++, my choice would be the Ranger (it has 117hp versus the 102hp of the 4x2 hilux) or Frontier (the only 4x2 pickup that doesn't look awkward).
