i would probably take extra effort and go to the ones who are the actual owners of the cars they are selling.
i have this suspicion that they are more honest than the bayan sellers.
at mas madali pa sigurong matawaran.

They are also notorious for rolling back odometers ... Digital odometers can be adjusted ... Even Euro cars ... Deal directly with the owner seller ...

FB buy and sell groups are overrated ... The cars being sold there are sometimes more expensive ... Also there are a lot of buy and sell agents in FB groups posing as owners ...

True... Even they readily admit that it is easily done. Just not in the unit that they are trying to sell to you, especially if it is a high mileage unit. [emoji23]

Small time bayan sellers are also usually more honest and open to negotiation than big shops.

Scrutinize the condition of the car if it correlates to the indicated mileage. My current daily driver, a 2007 Santa Fe, was bought January last year with 74tkms mileage. Leather upholstery on steering wheel and seats were in top shape apart from slight wear on the left border of the driver's seat with no signs of reupholstery. No sounds from the suspension at the time of purchase. Slight vibration under initial acceleration indicative of worn out engine supports. Given the last price of 430k, it was a decent deal.

Tucson syempre, not just for the higher ground clearance but also lower fuel cost. Considering the P12/L difference between diesel and unleaded, the Tucson may just yield fuel cost similar to 1.3s. However, I doubt you can find a 2009 unit for 350k... Unless you are looking at the 1st gen?

Among the sedans, the Vios 1.5 and Altis 1.6 would have similar FC. That crosses out the Vios unless its a 1.3. There is a bigger difference in FC between the City and Civic. So depends on your priorities now. Have not driven an FD yet, but the 1.5 City is no slouch, of that I am certain, and also quite spacious for a subcompact.

Thanks Sir! I'm leaning towards Toyota 2008 Altis and Honda City because it's harder to find a Tucson for a 350k budget. I narrowed down my choices with 2008 Altis AT w/ 70k+kms mileage v, 2012 Altis AT with 110k+kms and Honda City 2009 w/ 90k+ mileage. Should I go for a latest model but with higher mileage? Or older but lower mileage?

everything else being equal, i'd recommend the 2012.
engines don't get bugbog so much in highway driving, compared to city driving.

Mas gusto ko yung 2012 sa 2008 Altis because of the 13hp power bump. Though 110k kms is a tad high for a 6 year old car.

Mileage are not fully accurate descriptions of a car's condition though. And some sellers tend to tamper mileage readings. Best to check the car personally, with a mechanic.

My car never overheated, could the mechanic be just playing smart or justifying his service fee or could it be a ploy to make me lower my price.

We have a family friend who has a shop in Banawe, and also occasionally dabbles in the used car business. I employ the services of one of his mechanics when I need to look for a used car. My limited abilities are usually enough to determine the condition of the car. But I am not well versed with the legal stuff, so the mechanic's main function is actually to confirm that all the papers are complete and legit. [emoji28]

test drive each one of them first. you cannot just base your choice on how new or how small its odometer reading. meron kasing kunti palang natatakbo pero hindi nman regular ang pms or pwede rin naabuso. high mileage cars are not ussually sagsag if they are properly maintained.
try to run each car. sa handling palang at sa engine sound pwede mo nang madetermine kung may mali sa makina. look for leaks if there's such. palift mo para makita mo ung ilalim.

Maraming salamat mga sirs sa insights, got my 2nd hand very fresh black 2010 Corolla Altis G A/T model (47K kms mileage) for a very very good deal. Almost new tires, never been used spare tires, fresh in and out, casa-maintained, wala na kong hahanapin pa. Tested it sa startoll at 120 kph di ko na sinagad basta I'm impressed kaya di ko na binitawan... I don't care anymore kung medyo mataas ang FC nito as long as I'm happy with our new used car.

I’m planning to purchase repo cars sana, okay pa ba sa banks? How about autodeal’s used cars? Autombili co? I’m looking at 1-2 year old cars lang sana. Probably by next year na ako makabili.
