I don't know if this is the right forum to post this msg.

I'm plan to buy a new car preferably sedan(compac) price not more P790K. I'm looking for good exterior & interior, nice suspension, good safety feature, fuel effecient with power and good re-sale value.

here is my choice so far but i need to filter out the best car for my money.

    Mazda 3 1.6V
    Altis 1.6 G/E
    Civic 1.6 VTis
    Ford RS
    Optra 1.8
    . . .
    . . .
    . . .

    Your suggestion/input ...

    Thanks

i will definitely go for the Mazda 3 because it is the newest car to be introduced among the choices. Sabi nga ng lalaking sales rep sa mazda greenhills " ito ang aga mulach car, kahit saan angulo mong tingnan ang ganda"
    Tsaka ko nalaman bading pala

    welcome to tsikot sir

opinions ko lang abt the cars u mentioned:

mazda 3 - wala pa yatang available nito sa market

altis 1.6 e/g - we own one; does basically anything you want it to; sometimes thirsty for fuel; good resale value; toyota reliability and track record

    civic vti-s - honda prestige and quality; solid "feel" of all controls , doesn't look and feel cheap in any way; less-featured compared to rivals;

    ford lynx rs- pocket rocket; sportiest looking sedan in phil market; ford 24 hour road assistance program; thirsty 2.0 engine; manual transmission only;

chevy optra - afaik, 1.6 pa lang ang offer ng chevrolet phils. full featured but doesn't rob your wallet, chevy warranty (free labor and parts for 2 years) based on a daewoo nubira

    HTH

lynx rs - if you're looking for fun & sporty driving

civic or altis - if you're looking for the tried and true

mazda3 - if you're looking to be noticed (just released)

optra - if you're looking at value for the money

i'll get the altis for quality and resale value later on, civic is ok but not as nicely equipped as the altis.

    Mazda 3.
    RS
    Civic
    Altis
    in that order.

pero if i were you, i'll go midsize maski 2nd hand, accord, camry? corona,
iba kasi ang feel ng midziser, hindi nararattle kapag 140 kph.

and since were taking about 2nd hand, mura na rin lang ang mga mid 90s BMW 3 series (get the 318 and up model)

There is an Optra 1.8 available already. Mazda 3 would be nice but parts and maintenance would be high since only few dealers. Then there's the question of reliability, remember they pulled out before leaving countless Mazda owners to themselves.

Civic or Corolla would be a safe choice.

    in this order:

mazda3 - the best looking compact sedan out there. bar none. feature packed and handles superbly (a feedback that we got from those who were already able to test drive this).

lynx RS - pocket rocket! very ideal for our stop and go traffic here! just point and accelerate! its looks is what i describe as "subtle aggressive".

optra - best bang for the buck! the cheapest compact sedan that offers the most number of goodies! btw, a 1.8L version (with leather setas & chrome plate holder) is already out.

corolla/civic - if you want to be part of the bandwagon.

mazda never pulled out before, they were pushed (shoved) by ford.

wawa naman ang sentra hindi na nabanggit hehe. anyway, my choices wld only be the ff:

    1. mazda 3
    2. jimny
    3. altis G
    4. lynx RS
    5. civic

i suggest you choose the one that you fell in love with or makes you're heart skip a beat. otherwise, you'll just end up convincing yourself everyday that you made the right choice but still wishing that you had your true love. hehehehe
